**Official '11 NYK LOCKOUT thread*** lockout over

Flip the coin and Dwight too should realize that Kobe & Pau aren't getting any younger. Why stake the next 3-5 years of your career in that situation of uncertainty?

That's true but the Lakers were able to make that trade for Pau that was one of the biggest steals in NBA Trade history..So they might be capable of doing the same to land a young shooting guard/power forward to take over when Kobe retires..But, if we get Carmelo and the NBA enforces a hard cap, don't see how the Knicks can afford Carmelo, Amar'e, Dwight and CP3/DWill lol...I wanna see Carmelo here but there's a possibility that having him on the team might be a regret into the future

Salary wise this 3 team trade does not work:

NY: Carmelo, Billups, Williams, Carter
MIN: Curry, AR
DEN: Felton, Galinari, Chandler, 1 via MIN

This does not work!!!!!! Try

MIN takes to much salary in, at least one player must go from MIN to DEN or NY but...

Telfair to NY does not work, to big salary...

One option:
Telfair to NY, Mason to MIN.

This is UNREAL...DEN takes only 12.4 mil in, sending out 32 mil...WOOOW

20 mil less...meaning:
-13,5 mil saved going under the cap
- 3 mil getting from the league in the end of the season being under the cap
- 7 mil saved in salaries (30% of 20 mil)

WOOOOw... 23.5 mil saved+Felton, Gallinari, Chandler...this is a dream scenario trade for DEN if you ask me...robery!!!

Well Fred kerber of CBS just said in the latest proposal that it is the 2014 first round pick from knicks.

Not Minnesota's

Who made that Top 10 ?

They effed that whole package up.

...

We barely going to be able to get DWill or CP come 2012 if we get Melo and dudes are talking about Dwight as well ?

We're gonna be in trouble in 2012 if we can't sign CP3 or Deron. Donnie better get his scouting on and find a damn good point guard to draft.

When I mentioned Dwight, I left Melo out of the lineup (leaving Gallo at the 3). What the hell? I'm not THAT delusional. CP3/D-Will, Melo, STAT, Howard? The rest of the league might as well pack it in come opening night for the next 8 seasons.

I didn't mean to sound like I was going directly at you.

I think I saw it mentioned by more then 2-3 people in here.

From his hotel suite in Beverly Hills, New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov was playing coy on Sunday afternoon when asked what exactly happened in his short meeting with Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony yesterday.

"It was a fantastic meeting, trust me," Prokhorov said, smiling. "No words, live music, excellent atmosphere. We looked into each other's eyes. Just real man talk."

Earlier this week, the Nets reached a tentative deal that would send Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh, and four first-round picks to the Nuggets for Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Renaldo Balkman, Shelden Williams and Melvin Ely. Anthony would then have to be willing to sign a three-year, $65 million extension for the trade to be made.

Prokhorov maintained that he has not wavered on his thoughts from a month ago that the team shouldn't be so eager to do a deal with Anthony. He insists he had no plans to meet with Anthony as of yesterday morning, but things changed.

"As you know, my instinct was to stay away and I still think that is (the) right decision," said Prokhorov, in a wide-ranging interview which will air on CNBC on Tuesday. "But when the meeting was fixed, (Nets GM) Billy King called me and said, 'We need you.' I was convinced and I still think I'm right to stay away, but we have teamwork so sometimes we need to be all together."

"Carmelo is in a difficult situation..For him, maybe it's the most important decision of his life.

That is a good trade for Denver, no lie. And the trade would work becuase the Knicks would send Cash considerations

"I think we made a very good tactical decision to force (the) Knicks to pay as much as they can," Prokhorov said
SMH.. they know they're not getting Melo, they want us to gut our team

"I think we made a very good tactical decision to force (the) Knicks to pay as much as they can," Prokhorov said. "So it's very good, it's very interesting, it's very competitive."

He's a good owner for this, but come on man.

that's a smart business decision. either he gets a star or makes the knicks give up more assets

blame melo and CAA for using the nets to get the knicks to ante up

not sure why we had to add a pick when we are already saving them money and giving them good players

Den got him really believing that if the Knicks back out cuz they don't want to give up too much gives him a chance of Melo just extending with the next team in the area
laugh.gif

Melo and CAA obviously do not realize this is hurting the chances of the Knicks becoming a championship team.

Heard from a friend that now the Nuggets are asking for Mozgov..If that's true, they can kick rocks..First they said they wouldn't do a deal unless we got a draft pick..Then Walsh said he can get a draft pick, and they said they wanted either Chandler or Gallo...Then when Walsh said they can have Chandler, they say they wanna swap Billups for Felton..Then they say either Gallo gets thrown in or no deal..Then Walsh finally caved and threw Gallo in..Now they want Mozgov?!?! Next they're gonna ask if they can trade their Carolina Blue and Yellow team colors for the Knicks Royal Blue and Orange
