Anyone who buys that Lebron was just "coming home" like he always wanted, and that he would have still signed with 33 win Cleveland had the Heat not gotten massacred by the Spurs in the Finals and the Cavs not lucked out in the lotto again allowing them to easily trade for Love, is truly a ******* imbecile. Your right but that team fits him better then KD coming to the Knicks whose going to play the 4? Melo whose going to do the dirty work? That's what I'm trying to say. KeKo Jones saying this Knicks team that's currently constructed is better then Cavs team that Lebron went to and I'm trying to say the way Lebron impacts the game is way different then KD and that this team is not a good fit for his playing style.

Im not saying I agree with Remi but I hate Melo playing the 4.
He ends up getting hurt banging with bruiser type players and he uses so much energy early on at the end of games he starts shooting those wild 3s from the right wing.
If he is going there because we have Durant at the 3 then I guess its not such a big issue because then we would have a lot of scoring. Melo is best used at the 3 he is bigger than pretty much everyone minus lebron. Also when he is doubled he is an underrated passer because these damn Knicks don't make their open jump shots.

We are talking about playing 4 with KD. However, when Melo has played the 4, he has shown that he's pretty much quicker and more athletic than most PF in the league. When he would take it to the paint and miss he was relentless with the O rebounds and put backs. However, like you alluded to - dude was doing it by himself. He had no legitement thread And this caused problem because he could get double at will. KD would change that big time.
On defense - he would have a easier time guarding 4 IMHO because they aren't as agile or atheletic as him and please name me all this prolific scoring PF?

How can you say this when its well known that Melo's best season came the year he played most of his time at the 4. Dude averaged darn near 29 & 7. On the other hand the last 2 seasons, which have seen him get very few minutes at anything other than the 3, saw a dip in his ppg. Now clearly some of that is due to being surrounded by total **** for most of that period but still, Melo is a matchup nightmare at the 4 and arguably gets better looks while playing the position. Also he is a MUCH better defender at the 4 than at the 3. You are absolutely tweaking if you believe any of those PF's you listed are backing Melo down in the post. Dude named Ibaka & Z-bo
If only we had a 7'3" defensive unicorn that would be able to take on those assignments when necessary...

Melo is definitely best at the 4. Dude flourishes at the 4. There's also a diagram of Melos one on one defense for this past season, dude was above average.
