Hurler notches second win, yielding one hit over seven frames

ST. LOUIS -- Skip Schumaker and Adam Kennedy set the table, and Rick Ankiel and Troy Glaus cleared it, as the Cardinals cruised to a 7-2 win over Johnny Cueto and the Reds at Busch Stadium on Tuesday night.
Schumaker, who received a day off on Monday after a 1-for-12 slump, had four hits and scored two runs in the leadoff hole for St. Louis. Kennedy, batting second for the first time all year, had two singles and a walk, and also scored twice. Hitting in the fourth and fifth spots in the order, Ankiel and Glaus combined for five hits and five RBIs.
It was more than enough for Pineiro (2-2), whose final line probably overstated how well he pitched. Pineiro allowed only one hit over seven scoreless innings, though he walked four against three strikeouts. He allowed quite a bit of hard contact, but again and again his defense helped him out.
The Cardinals tagged Cueto for three runs in the first and four in the second, each time following basically the same pattern. Both times, Schumaker and Kennedy reached base consecutively, and both times, Ankiel and Glaus delivered run-scoring hits. The final three Cardinals runs scored when Glaus laced a two-run double to left-center, and came all the way around to score when Adam Dunn muffed a throw on the play.

Great game, what's really good with this impostor Pineiro?Albert going for the donut and we still kick the crap out of the Reds
That's why I called Pineiro an impostor, fool is a guranteed loss everytime he takes the mound. With that being said the Reds were clearly theworst baseball team to take the field in the world yesterday if Pineiro beat themOriginally Posted by wildKYcat
not trying to be a smartass, but First Born, you see the game? not saying it matters or w/e, but we bailed Pineiro out of the first and were rocking him...only problem was that we hit at least 8 balls right at people.
as i said in the baseball post, Cueto didn't look right. his fastball was barely hitting 92, whereas he's been hitting 96, 97 consistently. dude was "throwing" and not pitching.
Harang vs. Pooper today. Let's get it.
Adam Dunn continues to hit meaningless homers.
