damn, i bet if we got rid of pierre and signed lofton he could still produce - and accept his role as a bench player.

damn after this year dodgers signed schmidt & pierre and jd drew ran off.

TURRRRIBBBLLLE.

if you are staying in the city do not rent a car bro. im assuming you are flying. if you rent a car expect to pay 30-50 bucks a day to park it at your hotel. if you are flying into SF there is a BART station at the airport. just get on and ride it downtown for like 7 bucks. the city is real easy to get around using public transportation and cabs.
First year I went, we rented a car, paid $25 a night just to park it in the hotel lot. We only used it to go from the airport (Oakland) to thehotel and back to the airport,

. It was such a waste.

When I went last year, we stayed at the Handlery Hotel in Union Square, joint was

. We would catch the Powell Street Cable Car to get around and it is right across the street from Union Square. We did more the second timearound, and we traveled almost exclusively on the cable cars. Except when we went to the Golden Gate and AT&T Park.

, desperation move. JD Drew ran off, and Pierre was about to sign with the Giants. Colletti felt we needed an outfielder (Kemp, Ethier andLoney
laugh.gif
) were still a year away. I don't understand why they threwso many years his way,
smh.gif
. Anyway, it didn't save the Giants from spending foolishly, they threw that money at Aaron Rowand
laugh.gif
. I guess it beats having Gary Mathews Jr.,
laugh.gif
.

Juan Pierre is actually productive, unfortunately, we have more talented outfielders. Even in a split role he still stole 40 bags last year, and 64 the yearbefore. His OBP is terrible though, and is only a singles hitter. A poor man's leadoff hitter, too bad we already have one of the best leadoff hitters inbaseball, Rafael Furcal. Pierre is still productive, he was just a bad fit, from the get go. Unfortunately, his production does not equal his compensation. He should be making Willy Taveras money, so even though Pierre has some value and some teams would like to have him, his salary makes him virtuallyuntradeable.

so funny that GMJ and JP are in the same situation right now, but theyre the last ones laughing cause they got $$$.

what i didn't understand was the damn length of that contract, everyone who follows the dodgers knew kemp / ethier were a year away ... so why give JP sucha long term deal.

do you guys see the dodgers pulling a sheffield on pierre? just releasing the dude and eating the contract, i dont see any team willing to take on any part ofthat contract even though the dodgers would pay for it.

sidenote: i wonder how the killer tomato (olmedo) is doing? who do you think would win racing to first base: olmedo or jason phillips?

why hasn't eric milton been cut yet?

he gave up another 8 runs in 2 innings versus the giants today.

i believe his ERA this spring is 10 - 11.05 or something.

HE HAS NOTHING LEFT.

laugh.gif
eric milton was offered a minor league spot and he took it.

same wth ardoin, i think another team should pick him up.

I don't think so. I think if we end up trading him we can somehow land a low level prospect or some sort of relief pitching maybe. Eat up most of hiscontract and get him to a team who's in need for a leadoff batter or outfielder.

Wow. I think Olmedo would leg out Phillips by about half a step. Watching Phillips run to first base was comedy though..

will ohman in

damn his breaking ball is moneyyyyyy, had bobby abreus knees buckle.

ohman gets the hook after striking out abreu, niceeee.

Scully pointed out some things joe torre will be pleased about with todays game:

-Randy wolf had another solid start (I think he went 4innings)
-manny hit a single and scored all the way from first on ethier's triple
-ethier hit a homer
-ohman looks like the lefty specialist and accepts his role in getting out lefties
-casey blake also had a hr

I expect the 25 man roster to be released saturday.

How do you think our rotations looking?

1)bills
2)wolf
3)kuroda
4)kershaw
5)jmac

Kuroda has been pitching like an ace this spring though. Jmac at the 5 worries me, would love a veteran at the end of the rotation.
