The Knicks are not expected to bring Earl Barron back as the fourth center on their roster, according to Alan Hahn of Newsday.

Barron appeared in just seven games for New York last season.

They have Eddy Curry, Ronny Turiaf and Russian rookie Timofey Mozgov on the depth chart and aren't in the market for another center.

Does this ahve anything to do with Timofey Mozgov in FIBA?

still hope he's good enough to start.. so we could have a tall defensive lineup... minus Amare

The roster at 15 players -- Patrick Ewing Jr. signed a partially guaranteed deal, but from what I understand, he is expected to make the team -- the Knicks might invite one or two more players just to have extra bodies at camp. But there will only be a five-day camp this year because of the trip to Europe and Mike D'Antoni will want to get down to numbers fairly quickly. Newsday

But there is already a logjam in the frontcourt, when you consider Amar'e Stoudemire and Anthony Randolph are also candidates to play minutes at the five. With a more compelling issue to address in the backcourt (mainly the SG spot), the Knicks at this point are not expected to reach out to Barron even for a camp invite. Newsday
Amare, Turiaf, Mozgov, AR can play (PF, C) at times, and Curry will probably get arrested again..

I don't think we have too much PF/C's. But overall i think we're a deep team.

In D'Antoni's offense, Wilson can play some 4 with Amar'e @ the 5. I really don't expect Amar'e to star @ the 4 unless Mosgov is a big surprise. Eddu sucks and AR is too skinny. Turiaf can only play so many minutes, and he's not huge either.

Hell, I'm not even considering Eddy.

I'm excited to see PE Jr finally make the team.

Gallo's growth this year should be fun to watch too with an actual threat down low hopefully drawing double-teams. I expect to see a lot more driving from Gallo.

Hope Wilson can stay healthy all season.

Maybe we can actually pull off the SSOL offense this year. A lot of young/athletic guys. Perfect team for D'Antoni.
