Right...but he complements Blake's game better than Dwight would.

I don't think we should be worried about Olshey trading Gordon to acquire one of Paul/Williams/Howard. Once we do that we have no cap flexibility to replace EJ so it's basically a lateral move. On top of that, any team that got EJ in a trade would be soon paying him as much as their paying their guy now so it does very little for them in terms of cap relief and rebuilding.

I'd much rather have one of the point guards than Dwight. My reasoning for that is that we pretty much already have most of our shots accounted for. Dwight is going to need touches, and we would be better served with a player who could set up EJ and Blake for their 20+ shots a game each.

Like I was saying in that post though, the new rules make an extend and trade basically pointless. If Deron is gonna be a UFA at seasons end we might as well just wait for him and keep the likely top 5 pick as well.

Clip fan checking in!!!! We need a solid person at the 3. I like Prince strictly because in length, Defense, rebounding, a decent 3pt percentage and did I mention Defense. But I also like Caron too. Slasher, crazy mid range, can hit the 3 and ok to sub-par defense.

I say we make moves that benefits us for over a period of time not just a quick fix. Build for the next 4-6 yrs hoping we can make actual noise in the playoffs and more like a championship (I can Dream and Hope right??)

Like the Caron move a lot. On the surface it's not the best fit because he needs shots, but the inevitable injury will occur and he will be valuable as another scorer when that happens.

Also, $8M is kind of high, but the deal is only 3 years. Ideally, you could use that $8M expiring in the last year as an asset if Aminu develops as you'd expect.

I actually wanted Prince first mainly because I felt he's a better overall fit and he's not coming off a knee injury. With that said, I'm glad to have Caron on the team since he fills a major hole. Hopefully the knee injury won't be a factor.

I'm also on board with the Butler signing. He's a huge upgrade over Gomes, which we badly needed. Also, he may be a better fit than people are giving him credit for. If you think back to his early days with Miami, when he was playing with Wade and Odom, he was a solid contributor without taking a lot of shots. I think he could revert to that kind of role.

as a laker fan i'll be dissapointed they didn't get him but as a basketball fan i'll make it to a few games at staples to see blake and cp3. it's going to be crazy how this fickle sports town we live in as going to have alot of new clipper fans if they get chris paul.

that said, much respect to all the long time clipper fans who stuck with that team year in year out, if they get him hopefully sterling doesn't get in the way of messing up what has the potential to be a very good team if he stays outta the way and shuts his mouth,

No disappointment for you, since it looks like David Stern killed the Paul-to-the-Clippers deal, but in a different way.  With the Clips, he set the asking price so high that the deal could never get done in the first place.  

Crazily, I'm now hearing the Clippers got Chauncey Billup's rights by putting in a waiver bid.  If true that's cool, provided he decides to show up to play.

I think Billups might just be used as a piece to get that Paul trade done. I really don't want to see Gordon get Lamar Odom'd in the process though.
