i get that but what stats do you use to determine the difference?
This has been my argument.

Stats don't cover things like:

- denying your man

- being in the correct help position

- staying in front of your man / moving your feet

- making your man take a bad shot

As well as the obvious steals, blocks, points dif when said player is active/inactive, I feel like the intangible 'stats' are what separate elite defenders from wanna-be defenders.

For me the MVP is Kawhi.  Yes I am biased (Spurs fan) - but getting it done on BOTH ends of the floor is more VALUABLE than scoring 30 triple doubles or scoring X amount of points day in day out.  Not to say that those feats aren't incredible, but basketball is about offense and defense.

Then you can throw in the usual suspects, "lower seed", "poor media coverage", "superstar leaves team" etc..

Kawhi

Russ

Harden

Happens every year. There's a ton of Delusional Knicks fans that swear every year is their year. I remember there was like a 5 page argument on how if any one said the Knicks have no shot of getting 50+ wins makes them a hater.
