I said I would take Kawhi over KD.

And yes, I'm not changing my mind about that.

3 years younger. Elite level defender. Very good offense and has shown he can be great. Better grade of hair. Why not?

BHZzlies, you still feel like Kawhi is better than KD?

Kiwi is shooting 44% which KD hasn't done since he was 19. Kiwis rebounding numbers are way down. DPBM at a career low.

It's hard being great. His braids might start receding

#sadboytaskforce

He just slumping right now, the numbers will even themselves out.

Meanwhile Young Alphabet out here averaging 21/8/5/2/2 alongside 3 career backups.

And he's 21

The present and future.

Scary to think he's 5 years away from his prime, what does that even look like? :x

It's going to be some 37/12/10/3/5 nights, Hakeem/Bron numbers.

God took his time on Giannis.

He's the most valuable young player in the league to me right now, I would edge him just ahead of Towns.

Kiwi still got a higher DBPM than KD ever had outside of 1 season, while still putting up a OBPM similar to KD's last 5 seasons (outside of his MVP year). He will probably end up with a higher BPM than KD this year.

You can argue KD is a better scorer, which he is. He shoots the ball very well at a high rate. I think Kawhi's offensive game is a little different plus he's still shooting the 3 ball better than KD. I still think KD is great. I'll just like to start my squad with Kawhi on it.

Kawhi's hairline is very sustainable. Hair not even in its prime, yet. KD's hair prime was middle school.

I was getting so frustrated watching him the other night. Mane is everywhere on the floor. The most frustrating thing is that players know he can't shoot a jumpshot. Yet, he still finds a way to get right by them with ease :lol . Playing off of him almost as worse as playing him tight.

I didn't want to bring it up, but yea :lol

His record-shattering metrics after the first 4 games are, not suprisingly, decreasing with each passing game. Shooting 38% from the floor over his last five, only 6 free throw attempts per.

Yeah backing off Alphabet isn't really working since he uses that space to attack. And he can euro step from half court and dunk like space jam.

But, he's still making all of his FT's :lol .

Let's not forget he only played 28 minutes in that Clipper game and its no different than me taking his first 5 games of the season and you taking his 3 worst shooting nights over the last 5. I still don't quite know what we arguing about because he's still qualified to be a MVP candidate. Maybe not DPOY, but definitely 1st Team All-Defense. If his BPM metrics don't come close to KD's, then I'll say you have a point. If he finishes better than KD or has a similar year on top of better defense, I don't think I was saying anything crazy. :lol

Not only that but dudes post game as is absolute filth now.

He's got jump hooks, spin moves and the fadeaway.

It's just too many ways for him to beat you, he can become totally dominant without even developing the 3 but just seeing what he's done progression wise you know it's coming.

It was telling to me after KD played him and spoke about him after the game with a sense of awe.

Basically like "I thought I was the only one, but now I'm not."

Yup, as much as it pains me to say.

This something that he showed since HS, he's so physically gifted that he's gotten this far without really improving his game much at all.

He's just that much stronger/more explosive than even elite NBA athletes.

He's still trash on defense, trash from the FT line, hasn't developed the post game and can't shoot.

It's frustrating because he should be a top 3 center in this league but he still out here getting benched in the fourth.

Even SVG hasn't been able to save him from himself yet.

Please do not remind me bro!
And we put the faith in our team around him with that contract.

Dude came back the exact same player as last season. :{

Ps are lawdog and the other homies still here?

Join us in the Clipper thread. Plenty of space :lol

Somebody find MJShoeFanatic
Only time I see MJShoeFanatic is on Twitter tweeting about his Zodiac. :lol

:rollin what's his twitter? I gotta hit him up. I remember a few years ago I ran into him at a Clippers game. He somehow recognized me from my social media accounts :lol. Dude is like 6'7 but the funniest thing is he really is the same way in person. He was talking **** to passers-by wearing the opponent's jersey. Yelling at them :rollin

This was when we won 30 games too.

Bruh only needs 2 steps from the 3 point line to dunk :x :{

3 from half court if he's going coast to coast.

Doctor talking about he could end up at 7'2 and you just wonder what lab they built him in.

No a man his size should be able to move the way he does with so much fluidity.

The more he understands the game, the easier it is to see him continuing to become a player we haven't seen before.

I'm still skeptical of Kidd is a coach but he's perfect for Giannis and I think eventually he and Bari just get so good it doesn't matter.

They finally started Henson too so we lit.

You posted this about a week ago:

Still waiting on Kawhi to mysteriously fall off 8o

He didn't even have a good game against the Clippers and numbers still looking :x

Usage still over 30% (currently 33%)

TS% 63
PER 35
3PT% still below his averages (just wait til he gets that going)
26 / 5 / 3 on 17 shots

OBPM at 11 . Defense is slowly jumping up

A week later, all of those numbers have dipped, the advanced numbers have substantially dipped, like I said they would. Then you posted this

I'm not making him seem like anything. This conversation started because you said his numbers, based off of 4 games at the time, would surpass what Durant had done for several. I said they wouldn't. As I expected, those numbers have decreased since we last spoke about it. Doesn't mean he's a chucker, just means that he was playing at an unsustainable level.

My argument was that Leonard would have a KD like season due to his usage increasing and efficiency

Usage is 32% right now, and all of those advanced metrics don't hold a candle to Durant's '13-14 year when he was on that same usage.

Those numbers will probably continue to drop too as that usage remains in the high 30s.

Maverick Carter responds to Phil Jackson 'posse' reference

"It had to hurt when they lost LeBron," Jackson said. "That was definitely a slap in the face. But there were a lot of little things that came out of that. When LeBron was playing with the Heat, they went to Cleveland, and he wanted to spend the night. They don't do overnights. Teams just don't. So now [coach Erik] Spoelstra has to text Riley and say, 'What do I do in this situation?' And Pat, who has iron-fist rules, answers, 'You are on the plane. You are with this team.' You can't hold up the whole team because you and your mom and your posse want to spend an extra night in Cleveland.

"I always thought Pat had this really nice vibe with his guys. But something happened there where it broke down. I do know LeBron likes special treatment. He needs things his way.

"I don't care that he talks about LeBron," Maverick Carter told ESPN.com. "He could say he's not that good or the greatest in the world as a basketball player. I wouldn't care. It's the word 'posse' and the characterization I take offense to. If he would have said LeBron and his agent, LeBron and his business partners or LeBron and his friends, that's one thing. Yet because you're young and black, he can use that word. We're grown men."

All the hard work, effort and achievement and @PhilJackson11 still calls us a "posse"every step you take they remind you, you ghetto" @S_C_
