A week later, all of those numbers have dipped, the advanced numbers have substantially dipped, like I said they would. Then you posted this
Usage is 32% right now, and all of those advanced metrics don't hold a candle to Durant's '13-14 year when he was on that same usage.

Those numbers will probably continue to drop too as that usage remains in the high 30s.

So, you're comparing only KD's MVP season to Kawhi this year? :lol

Of course they're not going to look as good to one season KD won MVP in. But, look at his numbers in comparison to every year outside of that one:

2011-12: 4.7 OBPM / 0.5 DBPM / 26.2 PER / .610 TS% / 31.3 USG
2012-13: 6.2 OBPM / 1.4 DBPM / 28.3 PER / .647 TS% / 29.8 USG
2015-16: 6.3 OBPM / 0.9 DBPM / 28.2 PER / .634 TS% / 30.6 USG
2016-17: 6.0 OBPM / 0.0 DBPM / 29.4 PER / .668 TS% / 28.4 USG

I took out KD's MVP season and the 2014-15 season when he was injured.

Now, compare those numbers to what Kawhi has right now even after the drop off (and this was after 3 very bad games in his last 5):

2016-17: 6.5 OBPM / 1.1 DBPM / 28.1 PER / .595 TS% / 32.1 USG

He still has room for his OBPM to fall a little further and it would still be right on par with KD. KD is killing it efficiency wise, but then you have to look at Kawhi's defensive numbers compared to KD's. Not as high as usual, but I'm sure he's going to finish higher KD's career average.

I just think its a little closer than what people make it seem. KD is a great player, but to act like Kawhi isn't anywhere close considering he's 3 years younger is where you lose me.

Let's not also forget what has changed over his last 5 games. His touches have been limite. He's only had the ball for 8.7% of his court time over the last 5 games compared to 11.2% during the first six games. Lately, most of his points have come on spot ups, cuts and in transition, which is how the Spurs have used in the past. A lot different than now. So, all of that plays a factor in his numbers.

Tuned into the Blippers game last night...

I see Corey Maggette hair is flourishing.

is he rocking the tattoo fade à la Doc Rivers??

Phil's shot at LeBron & Co. was unwarranted but I think they're reading in to it way too much.

We need some sort of dictionary of words to take offense to.

"Posse"

Posse? A backhanded remark, but I don't think there was any racial insensitivity on Phil's part.

I'm sure Maverick Carter has heard it all before about how he's benefited from solely from nepotism, and personally, I think he has...but I think he's overreacting a tad here. That may be why he's so offended by Jackson's comments.

No I'm comparing 32% usage to 32% usage :lol

and its still a bad comparison because we're only using 11 games for Kawhi, compared to full campaigns from Durant.

And my argument was never that he wasn't close to KD. My argument was that he's not posting anything near Durant numbers with only a minor drop off defensively, because the only players to do anything like that on both ends was MJ in 88 & 89 & peak Bron

I didnt think those absurd numbers after the first 4-5 games would stand, I don't think his numbers right now will stand.

Phil knew what he was doing.
Put some respek on their name.
Literally could have used used any other word, but because their young and black, he chose posse.

Mav Carter not lying, you disrespecting his team. They manage a billion dollar business together, they not just his homies.

And they managing Bron a lot better than anything Phil has done in years.
People will try to claim it was a reach but Phil knew what he was doing.

I doubt very seriously he would have referred to Porzingis' team as a "posse".

It goes a little deeper than that tho. Lebron's team has been getting disrespected ever since he put his business in their hands. So many execs and agents wanted them to fall flat on their faces...and they didn't. There's always going to be a bit of resentment there.

See now if he chose homies I could understand this stance. Even entourage.

But posse? Cmon. No one even uses that word enough for it to be racially charged.

Yeah he was being disrespectful, that I agree. The intent was clear. But I really don't think it was a racial thing.

Yup. Them old white dudes don't want young black men coming in making moves w/o them.

Posse was the "hip" word for entourage back in the early-mid 90s. Phil's no dummy.

Someone tell Leonardo DiCaprio to be offended when they talk about the ***** Posse

Always gotta remind Leo he ghetto :{

Folks gonna be tight if he replaced "posse" w/ "crew?"

Again...I think it was a backhanded statement b/c he doesn't respect Lebron's business associates, but I don't believe there was any ounce of racism meant by means of his comment.

Does it really matter his "intent" if he's cognizant of what using that word there means? Like someone else said, I doubt that he would call Porzingis' guys a posse.

And why doesn't he respect Lebron's business associates? It's been clear since they got in the game that people didn't respect them because they were young, black dudes who broke the mold of the typical high power agents/businessmen in the space.

Who said it was racism? He used a term that undoubtedly has RACIAL (or cultural)  connotation given the context it was used. That doesn't mean it was "racist" or that Phil is "racist".

I don't see anyone in here calling a Phil a racist.

I love Phil Jackson. GOAT coach IMO but the problem is we keep hearing these code words that makes us wonder. Phil coulda easily said "his friends" "his associates".

If some old white dude calls you and your friends a "posse" you wouldn't look at him a lil funny?

Phil should shut the **** up and finish collecting free money while he runs the knicks further into the ground

Dude made it a point to try and disrespect those dudes and for what?

Bum *** triangle.

2 hours ago I had no idea 'posse' could be offensive.
CONTEXT

The word posse isn't offensive. Referring to a group of people who have built a company around handling and maintaining the business dealings of a billionaire (who just happen to be black) athlete as a "posse" is offensive. These aren't weed carriers. These aren't Lebron's boys from back home who don't do anything but drive his cars and spend his money. They put in real work. It's a respect thing.

Debra Lee is the CEO of BET. If she walked into a board room meeting with Phil Jackson...do you think he'd call her team of workers a "posse"?
