Kidding yourselves if you don't think he used the word posse due to them being black.
Again, Phil isn't racist, but how often have we heard the word posse being used for a group of white men.

Or nepotism.

Just a backhanded remark. Nothing more, nothing less.
And a backhanded remark can still have racial bias in it. He wouldn't have used posse to describe a group of guys surrounding a white player.
Yup
LeBron James explained his problem with Phil Jackson's "posse" label referring to him and his business associates: "To use that label, and if you go and read the definition of what the word 'posse' is, it's not what I've built over my career. It's not what I stand for. It's not what my family stands for. And I believe the only reason he used that word is because it's young African-Americans trying to make a difference.

Him and his boys are literally a posse. Not figuratively literally. Literally literally.

He's right to take offense although his reasoning need works.

Insane Clown Posse/Mean Street Posse count? :lol

Honestly, I think folks are being a tad bit sensitive w/ this one.

not since that word was popular in the streets in the late 80's early 90's

They used to round up the posse to sub due outlaws and escaped slaves. MVP stole the word in the 90s when he filmed a movie by the same name with a predominantly black cast... :rollin

If he referred to Lebron's crew as a Group of guys with a Ton of "Swag", dudes wouldn't be in here saying **** is racist.

Yea I'm going to have to stay out of here today, some stuck on stupid **** in the air today.

Peace.

This is big.
Major key alert ...bout time they upped the salaries, now they got a real chance at better players and product in the d league ...I know alotta dudes would rather stay in America for 60 k than the a random place in Serbia somewhere :lol

I love Phil Jackson. GOAT coach IMO but the problem is we keep hearing these code words that makes us wonder. Phil coulda easily said "his friends" "his associates".

If some old white dude calls you and your friends a "posse" you wouldn't look at him a lil funny?

NO! Lmao yall so sensitive. A posse is literally a group of people. Therefore lebron would have a posse with him. If that offends you then you probably have a pusse

a body of men, typically armed, summoned by a sheriff to enforce the law.

This is the first definition that came up when I searched "posse". Do what you want with it.

Webster's version --

a group of people who were gathered together by a sheriff in the past to help search for a criminal
: a group of people who are together for a particular purpose
: a group of friends

I love that they are doing this as the d league is making money too, but overseas is still paying way more. My boy plays for the PBA and makes 9k a month plus bonuses based on performance. Ill take that before the d league

They should make it 100k but this is a step in the right direction. :hat

Would be amazing to see more talent in the D-League, would improve the development of young players and allow guys to skip college if they wanted.

In no other circumstance would you call a billion dollar team a "posse."

because they are a billion dollar team? Business owners call other business owners way worse and dont get me started on what gms call agents. Trust me posse is a good term in this case.

should've called them a bunch of p ussies. bet bron wouldn't have said ****. no way is p ussy racial.
