because kd isnt lebron. kd cant run an offense like lebron can. kd is an elite shooter and scorer. only things he excels at.

kanter actually played decent d yesterday.

He's also one of the best rebounding forwards in the league.

Rarely is anyone non bias when it comes to KD/WB conversation on here. 99% of the time it comes down to whichever one you like more for whatever reason.

The "Westbrook is the scape goat" crowd on here has gotten big enough that they've inadvertently have become the "it's KD's fault" crowd.

Both sides are doing the exact same thing
Nah, it's not saying that it's KD's fault. It's saying that you can't keep blaming everyone else BUT KD. He's apart of the problem.

KD can demand it, who says Russ will actually give it to him. He wants that shot for himself

They don't talk about that it seems. KD ain't gonna ask, Russ is gonna go for it.

It's not like KD can't go get the ball himself, there's plenty of occasions where he brings it up himself to initiate the offense. If he not involved at the end of games all the time he has to take some of the blame on himself.

I've seen KD legit demand the ball at times and get looked off even by scrubs on the team. Nobody really takes him serious . But I think it's because at times like last night on the play where waiters banked it in he's just going thru the motions, not aggressively cutting or seeking the ball but just pretending like he really wants it.

Donovan is right and this is what separates the GSW's, the Spurs, Etc. from everyone else. Random, instinctive offense.

Have always felt that so much of what we love from gsw and sas offensively isnt scripted at all. You have to have high iq basketball players that instinctively know when to set a pindown, or a flair screen or a curl, some type of sophisticated motion without being told to do so.

When you see okc look stagnant on offense it isnt because brooks or now donovan havent made a playcall. Its because the play was blown up and the players dont know what to do

I think the coaches can teach the discipline needed to play that way. IMO the smarter, high bball IQ players just buy into that discipline easier/faster than the Westbrooks do.

Right. What Donovan said doesn't mean gsw or SAS don't teach this type of thing in practice. The triangle at its best was a system of random basketball. It was Phil teaching his players how to read and react and play off instincts without plays ever being called. The motion offense is essentially the same just with a different scheme.

It's easy to say "KD doesn't want to be the guy".
Part of the reason he doesn't get the ball late is HE CAN"T get the ball late.

You can put the ball in his hands instead of Russ' but that will result in a TO as well because though his handle is okay for his size, it's not Great.
He forced that pass that went by Ibaka and Westbrook there late, you can say one of them should of grabbed it or he should have been able to feed someone in the post(Kanter/Adams)
KD as "the guy" should absolutely DEMAND the ball in those situations. He's willingly conceding to Russ. If LBJ does something of that nature, everyone goes crazy. But KD has that pass that he's gotten forever it seems.
He canteven get goood position against other teams'shooting guards. It's more of a problem than non offensive entities like Robes and the predictable 1-2 combo late offense messing up spacing. And then when KD handles and you run pick and roll action he just gets trapped, its dumb

He wouldn't be able to do anything with it once he got it except pass it back, cough it up or take a contested 2/3.

They are all over that boy man.

I understand what you are trying to say. It makes sense for sure.

The issue is, he can demand it all he wants,  now he's got to get a shot up.

2-5 just inst fair, ever

Player A wants the ball.
Player A can't get the ball cause all plays start with Player B with the ball who does whatever he wants.
Player A is soft
