With Les and tOBC gone, this has to be the worst and most uninteresting crop of SEC coaches in a while.

As crazy as it sounds, Dan Mullen is probably the second best coach in that conference.

Offshore sportsbook BookMaker.eu has released odds on Miles’ occupation for 2018, and it’s clear what they’re handicappers expect The Mad Hatter to be doing next fall:

NCAA coach -350
Media analyst +250
No football job +1500
NFL coach +3500

If you feel Miles will be coaching another college team, you need to be quite confident in that prediction as it takes risking $350 to win $100. If you feel Miles will make the jump to the NFL, you could be looking at a big payday as a $100 bet would win $3500.

He pursued some ****** jobs this past winter so it's pretty apparent he's willing to settle just to get back in. Refuses to take an assistant coach gig though.

ND? [emoji]128514[/emoji]. I could see 10-2 tho, it's a whole different ball game going from the hunter to the hunted.

Les still probably has some good years left in him. He'd be at the top of my list I had to hire a coach at a place like TT, Ole Miss, or Arizona.

As long as he's not hiring his buddies, he puts together good staffs.

Yeah, I've read a few season previews so far and everyone has 10-2 (I think Phil Steele had 11-1) with losses to Stanford, Wazzu, and Arizona State, but the consistent across the board has been everyone picking Notre Dame to beat us.

According to Bill Connelly we only have a 61% win probability against them.

Notre Dame season will be ruined in week 2, no worries

Justin Fields #1 on 247 now

After Furd, I think UT is your toughest opponent this season.  Strong left a young talented team there, and it shouldn't take long for Herman to get them rolling.

Half those players would be gone if certain schools really wanted them.

I've read about Michigan and SC and UGA etc coaches pushing players to commit to places like Nebraska, TCU, etc instead of rival schools in sort of a "well you don't fit with us or we're full but better to get you out of here than have to play you."

In fact, one big-time recruit recently said that his visits to Ohio State and Michigan couldn’t have been any more different in terms of the approach each program took.

The player said that Ohio State was absolutely obsessed with Michigan during his entire visit, constantly downgrading them and reaffirming how much better of a program they were. At Michigan, he said it was the complete opposite. There wasn’t any mention of Ohio State, and the player said there simply didn’t need to be – Michigan knows how great of a program it is, and doesn’t need to put others down to build itself up.

Just read this yesterday and found it interesting how different reports can be

I didn't mean necessarily negative recruiting. I know recruits have said Helton doesn't negative recruit. More so Helton, Harbaugh, Orgeron, Smart for example bigging up another school's staff or system and helping team up to push a kid in one direction and away from say UCLA, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, etc. Just getting the kid out of the division so they don't have to face them.

This is how OSU and Michigan function in academics and all other aspects of life. They are SO obsessed with us. When I went down for The Game last year, I thought it was cool that they took the time to X out every single M on campus, but at the same time I thought no one in Ann Arbor cares enough about OSU to do this
