Your trolling. Stats show lebron is the better player.

His stats are vastly superior to Kobe's, but that's not why he is better. Just like it's stupid to say that one player is better than another because he has more rings, aka Robert Horry > Michael Jordan, the same way it's stupid to say that a player is better than another only because he has better stats. In that case, Chris Paul would be better than Isiah Thomas and Anthony Davis would be better than Dirk Nowitzki. The same way it's stupid to say that someone is better because they have more MVPs... Because that would mean that Steve Nash > Shaq and Derrick Rose > Barkley, etc. The bottom line is that it has to be a combination of things. And it is in this combination that LeBron is 7-10 spots ahead of Kobe on the all time rankings.

If a bunch of unbiased people never knew who they were and instead of LeBron and Kobe you called them "Player A" and "Player B" and listed their career accomplishments:

Player A:

3 rings (all 3 as the main guy)
4 MVPs
3 Finals MVPs

vs

Player B:

5 rings (2 as the main guy)
1 MVP
2 Finals MVPs

People would laugh at the idea that Player B is better. LeBron already passed Kobe when he won his 2nd ring/Finals MVP in 2013 in terms of accomplishments. The only thing Kobe had on LeBron is the fact that he played in the league much longer and had like 10.000 more career points at that point. By 2016 when LeBron won his third ring as the main guy and his third Finals MVP, anyone who said that Kobe is better at that point is a certified troll or simply has something against LeBron on a personal level.. Like this new MJ statement proves. First he said that Kobe is better than LeBron because "5 beats 3", but then he goes on to say that Kawhi is better than LeBron because apparently in that case "1 beats 3". His argument is as hollow as his brain was that time he chose to spend his #1 pick on Kwame Brown, which by the way also illustrates the extent of his knowledge when it comes to evaluating how good a player is.

I like how the rings argument would somehow be valid if lebron had more than kobe

Post some

"Lets not count rings because thats stupid, lets instead look at the finals mvps cause those are a valid argument"

When your career consists of uncontested layups/dunks your stats will look impressive

This thread was doing so damn good!!!

It’s been years since it was an unreadable troll fest...welp...

Once this thread was cleaned up, and the trolls removed, this easily became my favorite thread. Headed back to the abyss tho!!

I'll never understand people that come into threads to complain about a topic that doesnt interest them

This is stupid! First of all
1. Shaq only won 2 MVP's when he was clearly the most dominating player in the league. That tells you MVP voting is a joke not to mention they robbed Kobe the year he scored 81. People forget that same year he sores 64 in 3 quarters vs Dirk and the Mavs. He outscored their entire team through 3 quarters and Phil took him out for the 4th. He then took a scrub team up against the best team in the west in the Suns and had them down 3-1.

2. This notion that Kobe was some second rate option behind Shaq is ridiculous. He was avg damn near 30 pts. On those same teams while guarding the best player on the floor. His assist were higher than ever because him and Shaq were the perfect combo. People forget Shaqs production fell off after Kobe because nobody was better at feeding Shaq the ball. They would ISO one side and you had to choose who was going to kill you.

3. Bottom line is people feared playing Kobe Bryant. Kobe played against tougher competition. Kobe played in a league full of Draymond Green's while Lebron out here shook by an undersized dudes with less skill. You can spout out all the stats you want but the fact remains MJ and other greats say they'd take Kobe over Lebron.
