i mean how many times have i read in here "james harden is the greatest offensive player ever"

morey just made that comment recently, granted he also gave cp3 160M
You've only read it from me probably. I'm the only person I've seen say it. I'll rephrase, this peak of Harden is the greatest offense from a single player I have ever seen. I've never seen someone who can score like he does be that good of a passer.

"You could argue for him as the best offensive player of all time," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told ESPN. "To be able to say that with a straight face, and not have it be GM speak or coachspeak, is pretty amazing. There's a whole bunch of ways to measure it, but he's for sure in the conversation as the greatest offensive player ever."

You made your argument with playoff scoring averages.

Some might point to Harden’s ability to have an extreme usage while maintaining efficiency.

Basketball is still a team game. With Harden putting up magnificent numbers, it still wont change the fact that it is a team game. Golden State is not a cohesive unit right now, and they will become even more fragmented once Cousins enters the fray. Harden's offensive onslaught took advantage of Golden State's issues. He is playing in a fashion that Bernard King once did while with the Knicks, before he tore his acl. Back to back fiddy's, forty consistently, Harden reminds me of that sort of intensity. What he is doing isn't new, he really isn't changing anything. D'Antoni's offensive scheme allows players who have the potential to be volume scorers to succeed. Even Austin Rivers is playing well in that system.

in that context i can understand, regular season scoring and assists
aesthetically hes definitely not on the level of a kobe who i would put ahead of him

You could put bums around Harden and he’d drag that team to the playoffs in the west.
He impacts winning so much because he can control the tempo and takeover an offense since he has the ball in his hands so much.

As good as Anthony Davis is he doesnt make his teammates that much better since hes not a playmaker.

If Austin Rivers wasn't Doc's son, people would just consider him to be a good role player.
Being Doc Rivers son doesn’t change the fact that he has an annoying face and an annoying jumpshot. That jumper hella ugly.

Maximus Meridius Maximus Meridius told me that his turnovers were clearly detrimental to the success of the team though.

I'm very confused.

Of course if he's dropping 44 and 15 the turnovers can get overlooked but when he's turning it over and losing to the wizards having his team in 14th place it's a problem.

Just make sure ya'll stay through the whole movie cuz we know how the James Harden story ends every year.

James Harden is legitimately changing the way basketball is played... He doesn't need to win a chip for that to be true. Right this moment he's set to shatter the record for threes attempted in a season, the step back three is now becoming a mirrored shot across the league thanks to James Harden who is hitting them more frequently and at a higher percentage than every other team. No other player in the league has the distinction of being a three level scorer while getting to the line like he does. Not to mention his passing, size, and innate feel for the game

Winning dictates narratives though so he'll never get his due

I get that and that's great but there is no way one can say this has been the James Harden era in the 2010's and pretend Lebron doesn't exist.

Also 3 point attempts are great but that means nothing to me. He is not as efficient as Steph. I would actually take Kawhi before him

:lol::lol: My guy what? What is harden doing to "Change" the game... He wasn't the first guy to Bring in this wave of shooting a lot of threes. It's working for Harden this season, but i can assure you that most coaches aren't pushing for there star players to dribble the clock down & take a step back contested 28 footer.

James Harden game & shot selection works for HIM, for 98% of the league the shots he takes are Bad shots...

Harden really got ya'll out here going extreme with the takes... You got NT'ers calling people out for saying that one player averaging 5+ turnovers is bad for the team.

You got another dude in here trying to entertain James Harden as the greatest offensive player of all time, and then is stumped as to why another poster brought up his playoff numbers

Ya'll dudes are flat out REACHING
