Nope, they can afford Tobias. Just not for a max. But anybody who maxes him will regret it anyway.

And yes they could afford to pay them and pay LeVert when he comes due for a new deal

Kyrie / Dinwddie
DLo / Harris / Musa
LeVert / Prince
Kurucs
Allen
27th & 31st Pick

Leaves them with $16.6mil

Trade Dinwiddie for 2020 picks, gets to $25.7mil. Musa trade gets them to $26.7mil

DLo and probably a first and second is better than Dinwiddie and nothing for a guy who just made the all star team
What numbers are you projecting for ratsull and Harris for this scenario to be a reality

I feel like Philly could be willing to pay Tobias (and Butler) so he would need a lot of incentive to leave imo, playing in Brooklyn and taking any discount would be interesting

His incentive would be "going home". He's from Long Island (I think) and Atkinson knows his family and such

Basically got Kyrie for the #8 pick in last year’s draft, which turned into Sexton. After one year, SGA appears to be BPA at that point. So still not a crippling loss in a vacuum.

When you combine that with the Heyward injury, that’s what hurts. He changes a LOT for them each of the past 2 years if healthy. Now he’s one of the worst contracts in the league.

Awful luck there.

Just another reminder of how quickly these things can flip.

You also have to add in Kyrie's awful attitude which hurt them on the court this season as well as his indecisiveness that ruined their chances of getting Anthony Davis. Even if you consider the fact that the Celtics only gave up the #8 pick which might end up only being a replacement-level NBA player, he's still barely been a net positive given all the off the court stuff.

His window closed like the revenge tour was trash huh?

We had a couple venues try and slow play the deposit this tour season. Management and the promoters dealing with the lawyers as we speak. New dates will be added soon :nthat:

Youth and for the T-Wolves a big name.

I can see the Wolves doing it and Paul being the alpha (even though players might get sick of him), but if Houston is contending now, what can Wiggins give you? Especially with Harden's style of play.

What is Wiggins even good at?

Right, but is that really enough to give a discount and if so how much?

Russell’s hold is at 21 and Irving will be 32

His market might not be amazing but a team like Utah will offer him a max, and I do think Philly would also offer him and Butler bags too

Teams that strike out might offer him quite a bit too like the Knicks or Mavs

Today, Woj has no sources with the Lakers. Tomorrow he might.

He never did or does.

Chris Carter just said yesterday Kiwi is having a meeting with us. Now I don't personally believe he's coming but Woj been looking silly as hell with the Laker hate lately. Now I feel like the chances are better with Kawhi now that Woj made this proclamation.

I actually think cp3 in Minnesota wouldn’t be bad. It’s not where he wants to be but ehh.

Wiggins in Houston might work too. The rockets probably need to retool some things offensively and MDA can’t be any worse for Wiggins than thibbs was. Wiggins is still 24, I’d rather be overpaying the 24 year vs the 34 year old.

CP3/Kitty Kat would be nice. Might be the best big CP3 has played with. Wiggy in Houston means less mid range shots which might help him

Why do I get the vibes that next year, the Raptors will have a hangover season the same way Shaq Miami and Dallas did?

All three situations are somewhat different. The Miami win was a borderline fluke where the refs decided to give them the championship in a series they would have lost. Dallas basically shed their entire team after winning, MLB style. Toronto was a surprise winner but they have a much smarter GM than Dallas did, and they were a top team all season. That said if they lose Kawhi obviously they’re taking a major step back.
