Well I mean Wherever Kawhi goes, given his health history, are we even sure he’d want a short deal? I know for tenured max purposes, but it’s always risky play with that.
You could also argue that the clippers have
Better ownership. Literally the biggest competitive advantage in sports
Better front office
And if he wants to come to la and not be the third banana, the clippers provide that
They also have a clean cap sheet next summer should they decide to pair Kawhi with another star next summer
There’s only “little reason” to pick the clippers over the lakers if you’re looking at it through a Laker centric lense

I just feel like Gasol and Lowry got the chip off their shoulders and feel like they have nothing else to prove. They can coast for the rest of their careers like Dirk did.

Meh if he’s gone he’s gone! New GM is Daryl’s boy and Daryl has come out and called out Wiggins saying we know what he is by his third year and he won’t get better so my guess dude wants to move him. As a fan he’s done nothing to honestly stay. The moment Thibs and Jimmy left he should’ve WENT OFF and he didn’t and I don’t have any faith in him. For me this season was can Ryan and this new staff get anything out of him. Okgoie was more entertaining to watch on the court last year.
My guess they want to make a play for with Dlo or whenever Booker wants out of PHX. I’m sure someone out East will take on that contract. Good luck Wig!

There's no doubt the Clippers are a better situation than the Lakers for Kawhi. Mans is the best player in the world and represents the balance of power in the league. The fact that the Clippers don't have to gut their team to get him is paramount. They'd be Raptors West. Really the Lakers only advantage is the spotlight that'll be on them cause even if Kawhi goes to Ballmer they'll be a distant afterthought in the city at least. But hey that fits Kawhi's personality.
Still think he's staying in Toronto, but I'm down for the long overdue hallway series.
