Got nothing to do with the narrative... I was trashing Dennis before he got traded to New York. He's always felt like a guy that had way more talent than would ever translate into his performance on the floor. I'm just not convinced the issues he has are simply young-PG mistakes.

What do you think his issues contribute to then? Do you think he’s just broken and can’t be fixed? Not being sarcastic, just interested in your perspective

BIG KNICKS THREAD!!!

Soooo the Hawks are doing great, but the Knicks, who also have a lot of young guys, are not? Got it. Makes sense

The Hawks just won 30 games riding a rookie Trae Young and have surrounded him with a boatload of young assets who are all better than every Knick prospect not named Mitch or RJ.

I’m sure those non lottery Mavs picks will help the Knicks get better though. They’ve done amazing things in the draft the last few years with *checks notes* Kevin Knox and Franky Smokes.

Trier is my guy tho :smokin

Ight man. Hawks better show some major growth(pause) next season. Man oh man if they dontttt

Open the ESPN app and Jalen is going in on the clippers over what Kevin Arnovitz thinks the Clippers will say in their meeting

Nothing new. Jalen and ESPN hate the Clippers.
He’s letting out that Lavar Ball hate right now. Nothing more

What do you mean major growth. Hawks had a 24-35 record after a 5-18 start with probably the youngest average age of a roster in basketball. Is that not major growth?

Nobody expects them to win a championship right away.

Competing for the playoffs/8th seed is the next step.
Make yourself attractive for future free agents.
Compete for the ECF for the next decade.

Guess Ballmer forgot to pay Jalen like he did everybody else for positive press.

Proof of these supposed payments...:rolleyes

Maybe they’ve gotten positive press because Ballmer and the people he’s hired have done a good job running the team since he got there.

You asked me what I meant, and then said it in the last paragraph :lol. So I’m expecting 8th seed next season

I just generally don't want to bet on development of things that are typically pretty natural basketball skills. Not a great shooter and his mechanics aren't super clean to begin with. He's a ball stopper. Doesn't have a great feel for the flow of the game - Don't need him to be Lonzo but I just don't think he has any feel for when to throttle up or down, when to create for himself vs. facilitate for everyone else. He's already demonstrated he's got no desire to play off the basketball and not be the primary ball handler in an offense.

There's a TON of talent athletically. But there's just so many little issues in the details of his game that there's no way I'm gonna be the guy to bet he gets them cleaned up - especially as combative as he was about any of it in Dallas.

You gonna bet on the situation in New York being the place where it all clicks? Not me.

I wasn’t even gonna mention that in here cuz I hadn’t seen a NTer post it but I saw a reddit post where Lakers fans are now saying Ballmer is secretly paying off all media networks to talk positively about the Clippers and poorly about the Lakers. :rollin :rollin

I see where you’re coming from. Do you think he’d need more vets around him then?

More vets than Deandre Jordan, Harrison Barnes, Wes Matthews, Dirk and the guys he had around him in Dallas? It ain't like he wasn't surrounded by guys that were real pros in terms of how they handle themselves and go about their business.

For him - I think it's 100% on him to buy in and make a shift mentally. I don't know what that's gonna take.

Thank you for quantifying things and not just speaking in Knicks hyperbole.

Should be interesting to see how things work out with RJ coming in, because DSJr had free reign last year to do whatever he wants. I'm almost sure that, at least for a period, RJ will be the number 1 option and ball handler (I'm not expecting any signings).
