Official 2019 NYK offseason thread. Brooklyn knick fans check in

Would you guys include Frank in a salary dump that clears up space for this summer?

If it's Kanter I say you have to do it, but lets say its something like Lee and Frank for Jabari.

Kanter wouldn’t necessarily be a Salary Dump because his contract is essentially up after the season. But we definitely should’ve dangled Frank with Noah.

Kanter comes off the books after the season so hell no to including an asset to trade him. I'd rather buy him out.

I'd prefer not to include Frank in a potential Parker trade but I see why we would.

My bad. Def thought Kanter is here for another year. So besides Lee (and THJ who I doubt will ever be traded by Mills) no one is really on the books. Crazy thing is we have to spend the money this summer, so if we strike out then people are getting overpaid.

The Goal was to find a taker for Lee and Noah to open up max space and we whiffed on getting rid of Noah.

They would've never included Frank in a Noah deal at the beginning of the season. Now it seems pretty damn obvious. Too late.

I just really hope we dont settle for Jimmy. Rather overpay Kemba, Tobias, or Middleton.

TH jr is a great 3rd option behind KP and another top 25 player...

Frank and Noah could've gotten us some room to wiggle this summer but that didnt happen and packaging Lee with Frank will only get mediocre returns now.

But real talk I think anyone that knows anything about the NBA could see Frank should’ve been a late second rd stash pick with no expectation of him making it to the NBA after watching him last season.

We knew we blew it but I think we weren’t humble enough to internally admit that and didn’t want the backlash from the fan Base if we traded him while some teams still had a little bit of high hopes in him.

Frank is in a lose lose situation, the expectations are way too high for him here at this point. Most teams in the league would still take him in a heartbeat. Teams dont give up on lotto pick guards. It takes guards a lot longer to get accustomed to the NBA game.

Dunn, Mudiay, Exum come to mind.

I think Lee / Kanter will be out around the deadline. A package of Kanter & Lee isn't the worst for a pick either

Who's to say Frank would of have been a Lotto Pick if the Knicks didnt pick him at 6th?

I honestly don't know how high he was on the board.

things have changed. first rounders come with heavy expectations because the talent pool is so deep.
first rounders are practically expected to show and prove. and most of them have.
he was a bad pick by the former knicks suits. first hint should have been his mediocre stats playing in europe

He was a top 10 pick in every mock draft. GMs love their age and wingspan arguments. Cuban was set on drafting him if he fell to them.

In this case I think Cuban and Nellie actually were all in on him. They thought we'd draft the flashier DSJ if he fell to us for sure, most people did.

Cuban doesnt leak info. Was never part of the Mavs ways.
