Official 2019 NYK offseason thread. Brooklyn knick fans check in

The only thing that has me thinking Durant's productivity wouldn't fall off the face of the earth after the injury is the fact he's 6'11 and a great shooter. If his first step is gone he's going to have to get his points spotting up for 3 and from the high post/baseline fades.

KD would be 32 coming off major injury before he plays on the garden floor, it's bigger than the front office. It's almost fate

Knox is really gonna have to turn into a 38-40% 3pt shooter. We can’t have....

DSJ/Mudiay/Frank
RJ
Knox

That’s a beyond terrible shooting team. This is where a Kemba, Kyrie, DLo or w.e can fit in perfectly at the 1.

You know that those guys are all 21 and younger, right? They can develop their jump shots. It’s not like we’re talking about a group of 30 year olds past their prime. That’s the whole concept of player development.
You know age only matters when it comes to Frank.

most guys don’t develop jump shots. if the release is not good, the 3P% is not good, the FT% is not good than he probably won’t be an above average shooter at any point

can we even sign dlo? i thought he was restricted?

Nets haven't renounced the bird right to D'Lo. If they decide to offer two large contracts to free agents, they'd have to renounce the right to D'Lo first

Even if Nets didn't renounce, we still can offer a contract. It's up to Nets to match the offer

Are you serious?

Lebron
Wade
Brook Lopez
Blake Griffin
Rose
Wade
Rubio

Just to name a few who didn’t enter the league as great or even good shooters. Now look. Teaching a jump shot is much easier than any other offensive facet in basketball. This is why Frank sucks. He doesn’t know how to dribble, drive, or shoot. The issue with DSJR and Knox is efficiency, not that they’re chucking bricks and air balls 2-3 times a game.

That list includes 2 all time greats. Not really known as shooters. I also wouldn’t trust any of those guys outside Wade and Lebron to hit a shot when absolutely needed.

most of these guys aren't even good shooters..?

Lopez at least had a good FT% suggesting he could expand his game

Yea i dont think we necessarily have to give up on DSJ if we got Dlo.. Dlo is 6'5/6'6 so and a good shooter so he and DSJ could share the floor and DSJ is athletic enough to make up for DLo's deficiency's in that area

I also don't get why dudes are giving up on Dennis Smith so fast:lol: even if he never becomes a star player he could definitely carve out a nice 6th man role in the league as a scoring guard & what not. Yall need to let go of that weird hate for him expecting the FO to deal him so quickly im pretty sure they are excited by the potential considering he came over in the KP deal. I never saw him as just some throw in

I'm a big fan of DSJr. Not sure what people didn't like about his play with us last season. I think he has the tools to be a starter for a contending team down the line.

Anyone wanna share what it was that turned people off to DSJr's play? Really felt like he was the most athletic dude out there whenever he was on the floor, and played with heart.
