Official 2019 NYK offseason thread. Brooklyn knick fans check in

If Boston trades for AD..... Next year is going to be a rough year.

Next season is going to be rough regardless. AT BEST we’d get 2/3 between AD, Kyrie, and KD. Only 1/3 will actually play next season. We’d gut the team if we trade for AD. Honestly, the best case scenario is signing Kyrie and KD, bc we keep everyone we currently have and our picks.

Would be a nice backcourt with him and Frank. Frank gonna be a beast after leading the Frenchmen this summer.

Let's not do this again :lol

DLo would be cool. Who wouldn't want a 23 year old all-star? Financially, I'd rather not and rock with DSJR. We're not winning a championship next year, so might as well save the money for when we can make meaningful moves. We traded for DSJR, so might as well give him the keys at PG for now. He also has 2 years left on his rookie deal, which is a drop in the bucket in regards to our cap.

Why are some Knicks Fans willing to give Frank more chances than DSJ

I think its mainly because we drafted Frank. Invested more into him, so you want to see him succeed.

They both have some serious flaws. One sucks while putting up 3-1-1, the other one doesnt move the needle while putting up 16-5-5. Not tryna criticize one more than the other at all.

In today's NBA you gotta be a really good scorer, really good shooter, or a really good defender to be a starting guard on a good team.

Cant say either of these guys fit that bill.

DSJ should not be on the team if we're drafting Barrett.

Where's the logic behind that statement?

Actually, I think we invested more in DSJR, considering we gave up KP. All the KP ******** aside, we traded for DSJR with the hope that we'd get at least some value back from our former all-star. Neither him nor Frank move the needle at this point, but 16-5-5 is much more palatable for a top 10 pick, than 3-1-1. Both are hella young, so we'll see where they're at when their rookie deals are up. I still don't think Frank belongs in the league, based on what we've seen so far.

both DSJ and Barrett need the ball in their hands and neither project to be a good off-ball players. Neither is a good enough shooter or defender to have both starting in the same backcourt. If we're penciling in DSJ/Barrett/Knox/Mitch as starters, thats the worst shooting team in the league and part of the reason Barrett struggled at Duke was because they had 0 shooting around him. We're literally just setting up him in a position to fail especially if they just hand out ******** 1 year deals to guys like Mario Hezonja and Michael Beasley.

Also just in general after watching the playoffs this year: your point guard needs be able to make 3's in 2019. DSJ is not that

You know that those guys are all 21 and younger, right? They can develop their jump shots. It’s not like we’re talking about a group of 30 year olds past their prime. That’s the whole concept of player development.
