He’d be getting fried if he was anyone else, but I don’t really see what he stands to gain from going to these camps. I’m sure the stuff he’s doing is by himself is A1, and not a lot of the garbage you see on IG or TikTok either.

And while yes the level of comp is a concern if you want him to play right away, I’ve seen plenty of kids from the Midwest be instant contributors who had tape that looked very similar to what Arch is going up against.
But you don’t see an issue with all of the Arch Manning analysis containing language like, “I’m sure that,” “probably,” “despite,” “and while yes”?

Would you be shocked if Arch is the Theranos of QBs?

And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I think he’ll suck. I actually expect and hope for the opposite. My issue is with people calling him the #1 all time recruit and a sure thing, when they’ve literally never seen him throw, and he’s a quarterback

This is ESPN’s list of top Elite 11 performances ever. Think this shows how largely unimportant the event is. Shoutout to Kyle Wright though

I mean... The Top 7 were all are (in Stroud's case, will be) Top 10 picks + Trevor Lawrence. Bryce Young will be a first round pick. Williams probably will be, too. Rattler's an interesting case to watch but he's going to be drafted and have a chance. Davis Mills is going to have a chance to grab Houston's future by the balls.

Murray, Allen, Driskel have all started NFL games. Klubnik TBD.

There's, what, three busts on that list? 85% hit rate of guys that go there and perform at an elite level isn't inconsequential.

From the Manning perspective I can understand not going to these camps and Elite 11 stuff, because lets be honest, you're not going to get coaching there that is anything superior to what he is already getting.

But if I was Sark/UT I'd want him at as many camps as possible, rubbing shoulders with these '23/'24/'25 recruits and spreading the Bevo gospel.

I'd want him at all the big camps and especially those big 7 on 7 tourneys. If you happen to forget your backpack (that happens to be full of stacks) in the area of 5*DT or DB prospect, then hey. He must just be a very lucky guy

Arch Manning seems like a pretty down-to-earth kid and doesn't want the drama. I don't feel as though he's shying away from competition, I think he's just a regular high school kid who wants to go out there and play for his high school team and hang with his friends. Like you guys mentioned, he doesn't have much to gain from doing the camp circuit. The media circus around him doesn't really represent the type of person he is. For as big as the media circus around him is, it would be a hundred times worse if he were constantly giving interviews and posting a social media. In fact, your hard pressed to find an Arch Manning interview and he rarely posts on social media.
Other kids at the camps should be happy Arch is not there. If he is there the attention will be mostly on him.

I mean I thought it was common knowledge he’s a trash coach but can sell his program.

Side note I’ve never struggled to reach such gibberish writing on my life

i guess it depends on what we’re calling a bust. But when I look at a list of best guys ever over the history of the event, then I’d expect a lot stronger results here. Low end talent to busts make up about half of the list.

PJ Fleck is a scum bag? That'll be the least surprising news I hear all day today.
We've discussed rumors about him in here before. I think it might be pretty well known behind the scenes too. When his name popped up for the Pac 12 openings some of those reporters would say things like "Not sure how well PJ would do in the vetting process" or "There are other coaches and players who scoff whenever PJ's row the boat mantra is brought up." Then there's the talk of him being a lot like Herman in his personal time and vices...

A lot of these kids have year round private QB coaches that cost the same as college tuition and instruct them better than any 2-day camp probably could, but they still go.

You're not going there to get coached. You're going to meet and compete with other players. Why does the "does he love football" question only apply to underprivileged kids?

This is my thing with him.

Almost any other kid we'd be nitpicking the level of competition. We'd be nitpicking their competitive drive for not showing up to these camps for the opportunity to compete. We'd be questioning their leadership qualities because they aren't coming to camps and rubbing elbows with guys.

Especially when you factor all that into the fact there's not really much of anything you see when you turn on tape that makes your eyes pop outta your head because he's doing stuff nobody else can.
