To me there is no such thing as an asterisk.

If you want to rank the best title teams of the last xx years, that’s a different story. It’s always been a war of attrition.

These playoffs have been trash because it’s a superstar league and all the superstars are hurt. Nothing really deep to it. Injuries just suck.

That doesn’t mean basketball can’t be exciting and there can’t be good games. It just sucks not watching superstars compete at the highest level. That’s what this **** is about.

I would say the last team standing in any given year is a “legit *** team”

You go down a very ugly road when you start talking about unworthy champions.
Not really imo. Like I said you stack this bucks team or lac team without kawhi against any other recent champ or a lot of runner ups and I don’t put them on tha level

How are you making that determination? We play the games for a reason don’t we?
It’s just an opinion based on the evidence in front of us. Bucks barely held on to beat a durant and parts team

I look at any of these recent champs and sure you can poke holes their circumstances but in the end I have them clearly above this bucks team

This years ring gotta be fitted for a pinky…

a toe even.

It's weird because they're used to be big regular season games that fans used as playoff indicators of who was better and who matched up well against other teams. All that will be gone now because stars will be going half speed most of the regular season.

Is it worth it to push for a higher seed or would a team be better off just resting their players an extra 4-5 games? Is that one extra playoff game you get with home court advantage worth the wear and tear? This is a serious question teams are going to have to answer.
This is why the league sort of sucks now. Everyone feels like nothing matters until the finals which the “well rested” teams don’t even make. It’s all about securing the bag nowadays since the money has sky rocketed.

I don't think it has much to do with the money. All these star players are making tons of money. Even after devastating injuries, star players like Durant and Klay Thompson got max deals. Kawhi Leonard is still going to be offered the supermax despite however severe his ACL injury is. I don't think it has anything to do with protecting their bodies to secure the bag.

It has more to do with protecting their bodies to ensure that they're healthy during the playoffs. The best way to do that is to limit exposure in the regular season. This helps you in the playoffs but it makes the hundreds of regular season games pointless to watch because star players aren't playing and if they are playing they're going half speed.

Man, next year’s season is going to suck . Y’all thought load management was bad now. We’re about to see it on a whole different level. League should really think about reducing the total number of games but the financial interests are too strong.

Tryna stuff 72 games in 5-6 months was ridiculous from jump. This season shoulda been 62 games at the most. Shouldn't have started until some time in january. Now everybody that got hurt this season is gonna be extra cautious next year.

congratulations suns for advancing to the nba finals
marc davis as the lead

if clips somehow pull this off, foster will probably be in for gm7

While I do agree, a lot of these injuries weren't even the result of overuse.

Giannis gets rolled up on
Trae steps on an official
Jaylen broke his fall and hurt his wrist
Bron got rolled up on
Kyrie rolled his ankle
CP3 got COVID then some sort of whiplash injury

Playoff schedule been wild too. Clippers been playing every other day for like 2-3 weeks.

Low-key, it's been a compressed playoffs as well. Typically in the conference finals there are times when there's at least two days between games. Now there's one day between games regardless of if teams are traveling or not.

The NBA really screwed up this year's schedule.

They wanted to maximize the number of games, play on Christmas, shoehorn in an all-star weekend at the last minute and be done before the Olympics in July. Everyone knew this would be a disaster before it started.
