i think ima give game 4 a shot, but i just want a closer score.I'm enjoying these Finals, because I'm ultimately a fan of the game. Outside of Milwaukee and Phoenix fans, I don't see many casual fans into this. I get ESPN/ABC is trying their best to spice up these story lines--CP3 First Finals, and Giannis having a bionic leg...
But I wouldn't be surprised if the general sentiment was ambivalent.
Dog whistle is such a slippery unfalsafianle term.
I think it requires reading parsing SAS in the most obtuse and uncharitable way to come to that conclusion.
Nobody really believes that SAS beef with Ohtani is that he's Asian or that it'd be better if he was a white guy.
He's staying the obvious truth it's easier to promote when you speak the language.
I don't know why we're pretending otherwise.
if any sport needs to go
its american football
what about 04? and world games? 02, 06? team usa hasnt just been a super power since 92, these was some trash in there too.
Tune into ESPN for 1 second and see this
Dog hopped in the shot last second dont mind him

especially with our best players opting to stay home. Only one superstar went to the games this year and he's not alpha mentality. The rest are tier 2 stars and below.Game has caught up man.

Do you really feel like SAS comments were xenophobic? A few years back I made comments about MLB players needing to speak English and then having to have translators leading to me thinking less of them. It was a blanket statement to all Latin born players and it was birthed from pure ignorance. It was something I was able to realize, not immediately but eventually and I did/do see the error in my thinking. There’s no excuse or explanation for my stance and comments back then other than, my own ignorance. It was one of the more stupid things I’ve said here or anywhere, but it doesn’t mean more than one thing, I was uneducated and insensitive and more or less an idiot In that instance. That whole situation allowed for growth, personal growth and understanding. Does that situation and those comments make me an awful person at a core level? Does it make the opinions of those who think that I am a **** person and a racist valid? There’s enough opinions to go around I’m sure. Does it give me a “those without Sin should cast the first stone” type of attitude? No. It does give me perspective on this ordeal, and though I don’t particularly care for SAS, I can read the room. Xenophobic wasn’t what came to mind."obvious truth?" the obvious truth is rooted in xenophobia? baseball's marketability has nothing to do with shohei needing an interpreter
baseball's declining viewership is connected to many things, including, the deadball era, lower run production and long games during an era in which society has so many other forms of entertainment to engage with. matter of fact, you could argue that shohei's bat makes the MLB more watchable.
saying that a person needs to speak english so that the MLB is more watchable is akin to white people going into a mexican or chinese restaurant and then telling the workers to speak english.
i'd watch manny pacquiao's pre- and post-fight pressers during his prime and barely understand a word he said.. but boxing wasn't hurting for an audience.
Good point bringing up boxing. Half that sport needs translators and they're doing fine.
