A&M hired Marquel Blackwell away from Ole Miss to coach RBs... Felt like firing Tommie Robinson was a mistake at the time, but this feels like a damn nice landing.

They've also got a big NIL Fund announcement coming today. Sounds like they've set up a fund through the 12th Man Foundation that will allow anyone to donate any amount at any time.

TL;DR: George Kliavkoff is gullible and ****** up. Compiled from Wilner and PAC insiders:

George Kliavkoff believed the rumors about UCLA’s alums being unhappy with the B1G move and that the California board of regents was really going to block UCLA’s move. UCLA and USC insiders agreed that if you spent any minimal amount of time actually speaking with people at UCLA you would have realized that no one ever took that seriously and it was all just posturing from politicians. That’s why the hearings kept getting pushed back.

But Kliavkoff believed it and was pitching networks on two models in their meetings: with and without UCLA included. Part of the delay in them getting a deal done was because he believed they were being undervalued and would only lose $5M per school after USC left alone (down to $45M instead of $50M per) and that SC really was making a financial mistake. Well, turns out SC and UCLA are worth more like 40% of the total value of the conference and will eventually get $100M each per year, double Kliavkoff’s most optimistic projection.

His mishandling of things gave the Big 12 the opportunity to break their lease and get a deal done before the Pac which has set the number even lower and is causing pac commissioners to lose faith in George as we’re heading into March with still no deal in sight.

There’s also a conspiracy theory that there’s collusion between fox and espn to lowball the PAC that way the member schools grow unhappy and they can pick off the ones they want in the near future for other conferences.

The slow, painful realization you're really a G5 conference.

Wonderful. Life comes at you fast.

Probably gonna lead to speculation and conspiracy theories that UW is moving to the B1G. Didn't Georgia and LSU canceled their home and homes with Oklahoma before their move, or was that after it was announced?

After, I think.

Don't have a clue. Nobody wants to be associated with us losers in the west anymore I guess

But why take the 500K fine? Seems very odd.
The Ohio State athletic department cited the ‘changing college football landscape’ and potential games against UCLA and/or USC as reasons for canceling the series.

“We initiated the cancellation,” OSU athletic director Gene Smith said. “I have the utmost respect for the University of Washington and for Director of Athletics Jennifer Cohen, and this was a very difficult call to make.”
Only thing I've seen
