what europe has is world class infrastructure, u-18 squads tied to clubs, etc that "developing" countries don't have too much of, which allows young players to evolve in a more efficient manner
That's literally what a more "developed football" means. No euro pride bs, just plain cold facts

I don’t think Mbappe was trying to be mean with his comments. He was just trying to explain why South America hadn’t won a World Cup in a while.

Regardless. Argentina are going to use it as fuel.

Teams always do this.

It’s like when Nick Saban says “No one believed in Alabama…”

He was top 5 in the world during his first stint with Atletico. The Barcelona move was not good for him careerwise
Pretty sure he finished 3rd for the B'Dor a year or 2 too, was definitely arguably the best player not named Messi or Ron at one point. Right up there with Neymar

Yup, always said that
He tends to be making bad carrer choices, trying to emulate some "moving my talents to South Beach" type ****
That whole decision mess he hyped up only to stay at Atleti then leave for Barca less than a year later was a bad look at the time. The move didn't really work out for him either but feels like his performances for France never ever dipped since he made his international debut no matter his club form

Taking him off the forward line is also a big deal, doesn't have pressure to score, but with his work rate can be an extremely effective player.

they have the money & infrastructure and media, but the game isn't any more "developed" in europe than it is in south america. look at england, for instance, who have all three in high doses. can't tell me their football is more developed than even the mexican national team's brand of football, but every world cup they're favorites? lol

i'll even say that international players from outside of europe are the ones who have elevated european football (clubs, leagues and yes, european national teams). they're the ones who have made the european leagues competitive and attractive, not some guy named harry.
