I know why Nike is doing the Rare Airs.
They know a lot of dudes are ending their collection with all the OGs that have been released. They think these are going to give everyone a reason to buy them all over again..........just because these have something different on them. Most dudes wanted to retire from AJ1s after this OG go around. They hoping this will suck them back.
Or their for regular people who like the color ways but aren't into standing on lines.
Not everyone is a sneaker head or cares about N/A branding.
