You would rather pay MORE for the same product????

Same reasoning why people will walk into a resale shop in the mall and drop $300 on a pair of Panda Dunks, some people just can't be bothered to waste time and jump through hoops on the possibility on getting a pair, especially if they have the funds to just get it right away with no issues. That's assuming this release will be easily attainable due to how many people are put off by the price.

Time > Money once you are making enough of it.
