I'd say a step above mediocre. The leather is not that "grandma dining table wood wood" grain, but it's pretty good. They did use some better cuts on the toebox, heel and white side panel, it is tumbled pretty well and looks premium. The black leather is basic though, no grain at all on that. Compared to the Newstalgias I copped, these Taxis are superior. I unDSed them today for a grocery store run, they felt good and turned a few heads. The toebox can take a good wear without getting creased. Overall I can't complain.
