Evolution also includes what nike is going to do to rectify the "problem".
To me the "problem" isn't the existence of bots but that so many people have them now that its reduced the average consumers chance at copping to almost nothing on limited releases.

The only thing I'd hope for the next go round is that the people that initially get the head start are far more selective than they currently have been with who they let in.

I like this idea, but i think that NDC does it so that they can have dedicated servers for the releases that will cause a high volume of traffic to the site, thus preventing a site wide crash (a la FNL).

Ok he wants me to pay thru paypal but he just sent me a invoice through my email to pay him the money which for me is 20 dollars cheaper but its not through ebay. Im asking cause i have always paid on/through ebay with paypal and plus the ebay pop gave me a scam warning about paying outside of ebay. Should i pay or just find another seller??? Paypal Invoice offers the buyer protection. He is just undercutting feebay from taking money from him. You're protected as long as you aren't sending it as a gift.

Personally I'm glad they are restocking. I don't mind other people wearing the same shoes as me. There is a certain comradery in that. Plus if all releases were like this then maybe the resellers would go away and get a new hustle

Glad you agree! Back in the day I remember seeing dudes in the same kicks walking by and we'd give each other props or simply exchange glances and smile. These days dudes get mad like you are stealing their thunder lol. Now it's all about limited releases and who can get their hands on what and people getting salty or shot over shoes. Ridiculous man. Lol at people who use programs to buy shoes, but look down on some of us who still try and buy the old fashioned way...if you can use bots more power to you, but dont act like the rest of us are stupid and feel like "we" need to step our game up if we want the newest release. If a pair drops that I want and I cant get it for retail, I will gladly pay $50-$100 depending on how bad I want them. I dont lose sleep. We as a community are so quick to call "outsiders" hype beasts when in reality most of the members here are hype beast in some form!

These shoes are from the 80s/90s - that's the way it was back then. If you wanted to floss, you had to be ready to fight. Now, obviously, there are a lot of negatives about that, but two points --

1. Shoes, and especially retros, embody the culture of their time as much as anything else, and the jux was certainly part of the culture in that era. So, if you're going to embrace the shoes, embrace the era too - warts and all.

2. The jux regulated the culture. We complain about the crazy hypebeasts, etc. Then, young bucks talk about - "like there weren't hypebeasts back in your day?" The answer is, not really. Why? Because some mark trying to high post off mommy's credit card just got their food eaten real quick.

Again, I'm not necessarily glorifying that aspect of things, but it would be short-sighted to ignore that the increased safety people feel when flossing is one of the many causes of the proliferation of the beasts and the race to the lowest common denominator in the sneaker hobby.

For people that feel they can't cop new releases unless they have a bot, you're mistaken. I've personally been able to grab new release shoes (Foams, Jordans, LeBron's etc) over the past 4 months without using a bot. With that said, I do have fast computer. I have a fast connection with my ISP. I've read what other people say works and doesn't work for them. Over time I've compared which browsers work the best for me. Those are some of the tips I've picked up over time.  

 

Some of the best advice I've gotten from a fellow NTer was to keep trying. You never know what will happen once a person tries to checkout. Several times I've tried to checkout and the first couple times it says something about the shoes being in reserved, but eventually I got through. Not saying it works 100% of the time.

 

To those who use bots, more power to you and I'm glad you have something that helps you cop on RD. Paying people for bots if you think about it is becoming the new "hustle" like reselling has become. Once NDC or other online websites change the process, then the bot you paid for needs to be updated. Then you'll have to pay your developer to update your bot which means more money for them each time they provide an update. For those who created their own, I guess it doesn't apply to you. At the end of the day as many people have said before...it's just shoes. If somebody gets a size 13 by using a bot and I miss out, I'm fine, and that's with any release. As for the XI, I will try to get another pair to stock so I can get some wear out of the pair I got on RD from NDC.

Lol I feel where you're coming from. People now don't know what it's like to get punked for your kicks. That's why a lot of the kids don't hesitate to drop bread on em so they can be cool in school. I remember when you got new shoes and wanted more than 1 person to have em so you weren't a target coming off the subway... But I grew up in the "your sneakers or your life era". We gotta show these kids that 1 episode of family matters so they know what used to be up lol
