My list for the moment......
There is nothing "bluray" about this list fam
720p for gaming is good, but 1080p for BRs all day
pimp.gif
That's not even 720p

a "REAL" 720P rip would be 25-40 gigs, not 4

These are real bluray rips

What is that suppose to be?

720p scene rip is 25-40GB? Huh?

Do you have any idea what your talking about?

For example, a 1080p scene rip of Goodfellas is 12.70GB.

Even the untouched blu-rays in 1080p don't exceed 40GB. Get your facts straight.
a 3 hr 1080p flick is not 12 gigs idiot

99% of "bluray rips" you find online are compressed to hell

an untouched rip is gonna be about 23-25gb per hr.
I think he's just confusing MKV movies for Blu-ray rips. MKV movies look great for me and stream pretty well to the PS3 so I have no problem viewing them

i went to best buy tv and they had avatar in 3d on a 3d samsung tv

i didnt stop to ask, but that looked like it was blu-ray. i thought there wasnt a version out? im guessing that it was just a demo clip? they had it right in the front so everyone who came in could see avatar in 3d.

Yeah, most look good

but that's not true bluray

i finally gave in and copped my first blu ray dvds ... i think i got like 5 or 6

i wanted avatar and copped iron man, hulk (the good one), casino royale and a couple others

My question though ... are the older movies worth getting in blu ray ...

that aliens is tempting .. but for example aliens came in '86 ... how good can i really expect it to look compared to DVD

It also depends on the size of your lcd/plasma

For people with 720p tv's, it looks great. But for those of us upscaling, the quality decreases and you'll notice artifacts that'll make the picture look "grainy"

I don't want to get into it but, trust me. film which movies are captured on can still be optimized per say, up to 4000p, were only at 1080, DVDs are trash compared to Blurays, unless the studio just threw it together quickly (Half Baked) which still looks 10x better. I just watched Vivre Sa Vie a 1962 black and white film and i was absolutly entranced by the contrast the depth the everything and i have a 4 year old Pioneer Plasma. I hate reading people who "will stick to the DVD" just admit you broke, but at least acknowledge you would love to have the finer quality Bluray. The Dollars Trilogy on Bluray, SMH.. I dont even know where to begin on the absolute PIFFERY that collection holds

Old movies look great if they are remastered correctly. ie. The Godfather collection

Look through www.blu-ray.com for some reviews on older movies, they usually provide screencaps for every review, to see what i mean.

Shout! Factory has finally set a date for the 1987 animated 'G.I. Joe: The Movie,' and it will hit Blu-ray on July 27.

for those who have avatar, can u post on screen images from your tv in 1080p? thanks in advance
