Keep it as simple as you can make it since this is your first host. Seasoned burgers & steak and dogs dipped in a BBQ sauce marinade. Chips, some salsa dip, baked beans and a dessert. Then you'll be set. Manning the grill when it's blazing out, making sure you don't burn the grill items all the while entertaining your guests can be a struggle. Simple is the way to go bro.

if yall gonna bbq (with charcoal) have dat blower ready to start dat fire. srs. **** fanning a paper plate

Homies pops used to come through on the field trip/picnic days at school. korean short ribs and rice. skrimple and delicious

Sooooo your "grilling" then. If I hear BBQ there BETTER be some smoked meats.

see this is the thing outside of the south we the only ones who know the deal.

you west coast and up north people dont have a clue. :lol

BBQ is pork cooked on the grill and chopped up or turkey, turkey chopped up . thats bbq.

:lol. And people who call soda 'pop' are wrong too. Different areas have different words for things. That doesn't make what someone else calls it wrong. And I have always associated the word barbecue with a cooking method - not what you are cooking.

What if there is chopped pork and dogs/burgers? A bbq/cookout hybrid? :lol

I agree with burgers and hot dogs aint bbq'ing

But Im not going to take it as far as to say "a barbecue isn't an event", becuase in Texas....it is an event. :lol

"Bruh, we barbecuing. Come thru!"

but when yall bbq'n that means pig is on the grill right?

I see what you're saying.

To avoid confusion my buddies and I (we've had this arguement alot) break it down like this:

Grilling=propane/gas cooking
bbq=direct heat using charcoal (grilling but with coals instead of gas)
smoking=indirect heat using wood/hard lump/wood pellets

but when yall bbq'n that means pig is on the grill right?

Not necessarily. In Texas, brisket(beef) is really big, but in Florida, thats exactly what it means....'

Gotta be pork ribs b
