***Official Breakfast Club Interview Thread***

everything faizon said is true minus dave not being funny and his view on django

dave is hilarious but people rewrote history after chappelle show

he’s never put out a definitive special that’s on par with the greats

killing em softly is prolly his closest

I actually said that in the chappelle thread in general before faizon said this but michael che has the best special out

I don't think anybody would say killing 'em softly is a classic but it's still great. He got credit cuz his show was great. To me Equanimity was great, we'll see how it holds up but Dave is a legend off his show alone.

then aint no way
u or anyone could deny keenan ivory waynes
maybe cause im old enough to remember watching episodes
then going to school
the next day
and talking about it with friends on the school bus
but in living color is above chappelles show imo

Who wouldn't call Keenan a legend? They need to be slapped. :lol

His show made a lot of other peoples career pop off. His whole family, Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx etc. Keenan like the Dr. Dre of comedy.

the show is def legendary

that’s what I’m saying, people loved the show and rewrote history as dave being the best standup

dave is the most natural comedian but not necessarily the best

people did the same with seinfeld, but when you look at Seinfeld’s career it was all Larry david and nothing else from jerry really hit outside of coffee in cars or whatever it’s called

but dave is way funnier than seinfeld, Dave’s ability is up there with the greats but his specials are good to great, not the greatest

Wypipo have also put Craig Robinson, Wayne Brady, and others up and generally, we don’t mess with them.

Dave is a legend in every sense of the word
I get this sometimes and then I don't

So since these comics wasnt put on by us are they suppose to not get put on by other groups? If anything thats a finesse in my eyes, get to the bag

They shouldn't starve because we never put them on, as long as they not c**nin' and bafoonin' then they fine with me imo

I don’t think these two in particular act like a marsupial with dark circles around their eyes, but they aren’t exactly the funniest guys out IMO.

Craig had his moments on the office. He’s definitely in That crowd as the black guy. When NBC gave him a show with fine Megan Good, it was trash

Yeah they not that
And they are talented
Especially Brady
But they just don’t make ME laugh
But I respect their grind and hustle

Faizon wasn't hating. He was keeping it a buck.

Killing them softly came out 2000, chapelle show 2003. Now how many people saw killing them softly in 2000? How many saw it after Chapelle show grew a cult following?

Chapelle wasn't always knocking shows out of the park. There's people who have seen him live who wasn't feeling him. Faizon and Dave are 2 different comics culturally. Dave ain't a kings of comedy, comic view type commedian who wsa popping in the hood. Not until AFTER chapelle show.

Go back and watch def comedy jam and watch Dave's set versus Arnez, or Tucker, or Rock, or Bernie Mack. Thats the kind of stuff Faizon is into. Thats the kind of stuff where if thats what you're coming from, you see a Dave set, you might not be feeling.

And I don't even think Faizon wasn't saying Dave wasn't a funny dude. He just said he doesn't have any classics. He doesn't have a Delirious, Live on the sunset strip, or Bring the Pain. Dave has the Chapelle Show. Which is a product of a team of writers.

Comedy is subjective. Faizon might think some of Dave stuff is wack, you might not. But I definitely feel where he's coming from, because Dave is hilarious imo, but he's never made me laugh like Bernie or Eddie.

But Dave earned to be where he is at the end of the day. And I don't think Faizon was downplaying what he's earned.

Faizons whole tone was on some hater ****. He went off into Dave's background and "he ran from his own show". Like bruh this something extra.

You can nipick at any comedian if you want. People have these type discussions about athelets all the time. Legends are Legends at the end of day. Killing Them Softy was big in the DC and Maryland area. Middle school and high school people was quoting lines from that. _'s liked Half Baked too.

But speaking of dudes that only white people cosign. I've yet to meet a black person thats a fan of Key and Peel lol. Good for them, I think Peel is a real good movie director but their comedy is corny as ****.

Key and peel was just a broke mans chapelle show :lol their funniest skit was the one with the substitute teacher.

I saw key do some nfl award show and he was trash

Faizon on some crabs in a bucket ****. This whole thing started with Monique not getting paid. Amy Schumer hasn't said a single funny thing ever and she got like 10 mil from Netflix, why go on multiple interviews now talking **** about Dave?

And I've said myself before that Dave is a little overrated but acting like the only funny **** on his show came from Charlie Murphy or somehow white people are responsible for all his success, sounds like some crab **** to me

He didn’t say that though
He said it didn’t pick up till Charlie Murphy
Became a writer on the show

He did. He said the first season was wack. And then everything Charlamagne mentioned he liked in the second season he tried to say Charlie wrote it.

I thought Faizon's Sway interview was hilarious. The others were like 2nd rate versions of that interview. He's definitely on some hater **** as far as Chappelle is concerned but I thought he raised some good points regarding Monique and Judd Apatow.

Shouts to Dee Dee, big look for her. But the ghetto Hispanic accent in large doses has always been annoying to me (I am Hispanic myself).

that ***** was hating and it was cringeworthy to watch. salty *** *****.

this aint the first time he’s been on this tirade either so you know its some personal non objective ****. i remember him dissing dave a few years back. if he left it at white people built dave up to be this larger than life character it wouldnt have seemed like hating. but to say he isnt funny...
