ehh why u say so??? i kno it's just L5's but I run an Orion 2500d to a pair of 12" L5's for almont 3 months with no problems. just gotta keep your gains down. plus it always leaves space for upgrades.

^^^ def the way to go.. who knows, you alllways want something louder.. so once you do, atleast you have an amp that can push something. mayb two l7, if you are a kicker head.. not really my steez anymore...

more power doesn't = louder

telling that man to get a 2000w amp for subs that don't even need half of that power is stupid.

upgrading to more efficient drivers is the way to go, not upgrading to drivers with more power handling.

It's not about that

you're telling a noob to overpower his subs...that's recipe for disaster.

and no, l5's cannot handle 1k each.

12" Dual 2 Ohms Solo Baric L5 Series Subwoofer
Power Handling:
Peak: 1200 watts
RMS: 600 watts
Impedance: Dual 2 ohms
SoloKon aluminum-treated composite cone woofer
Santoprene surround
Rigid steel basket
Stitched Surround: Ensures the cone and surround won't separate, even under the highest loads

2k would be justified.. no ??

Hey Im putting together a SQ sound setup for my vehicle and need help on choosing a couple things. Right now I have a set of components and a 4 channel amp. I would like to decide on a HU that would provide the best SQ.  Extra features such as video, gps, etc would be nice but not a priority.  As far as subs I would like to best SQ and I am willing to pay the price.

Here are the items that I currently have:

ID CTX65CS

Kenwood Excelon XR-4S
http://www.woofersetc.com/p7819/XR4S--Kenwood-eXcelon-Reference-Fit-4-Ch-300-Watt-Amplifier.htm

Here are the items that I am deciding on:

HU:
Alpine CDA-117

Pioneer AVH P5200 DVD

OR

Pioneer AVH P4200
http://www.woofersetc.com/p8669/AVHP4200DVD--Pioneer-InDash-7"-Touchscreen-DVD-Multimedia-AV-Receiver.htm

SUBS:
10" FI Q
or
10" JL W6V2

wat kind of setup would i be getting ith the items listed above? Im not looking for a loud system that willl make ppl hear me frm a block away

Diamond audio d6.700 c4 channel

vs.

Alpine pdx 4.150

running at 4 ohms

which puts out better quality and which is overall better?

Nothin, actually really loud not that I did the big 3 and put in the spx-17pros

buy the diamond only pushes 115 @ 4ohms

and 175 watts at 2ohms

the pdx does 150 @ 2 or 4 ohms

so idealy I'd like to run each channel at 2ohms

but is that even possible?

Any sites with wiring diagrahms if that is possible
