OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

I don't know anything about Monsters Unleashed, but they've had Ghost Rider and Morbius in their team-ups before? :eek I wonder what the chances are of seeing them or Blade and the Nightstalkers in Monsters Unleashed. Blade isn't a %100 vampire, but close enough.

Here's the main protagonist of my story. She's multiracial and I want to explore the idea of different cultures having different customs and mores by granting her several unique abilities that are inherent to specific portions of her ancestry.

I've struggled to make this girl likeable and sympathetic for 6 years. My first ever reader said that she didn't like her, and this was like 4 years ago. I hope things are different when she reaches a mass audience.

The artist got the hair perfectly, which was the most important thing (also see those other two drawings). I think we need more characters in fantasy fiction with nappy heads. :smokin

I got all 4 books of Daniel Way's Deadpool series. I like it more than the current ones

NT Fam, tell me your thoughts on this, please:

I have an ungraded copy of Brave & The Bold #28 that I'd peg at about a 3.5-4.0. I copped 28, 29 & 30 for $800 a few years back and keep them in my safe. Maybe I'll CGC 28 someday, but whatever...

Anyway, yesterday for the hell of it I thought I'd see what some similar copies have sold for recently on ebay and in the list of results was an ad page from a comic in early 1960 promoting the upcoming B&B 28 issue. Really cool ad, but of course it had already sold. I did see that an issue of House of Mystery from that year had the ad in it, and I found a seller with a "reading copy" listed. He had a pic of the 1st story page in his listing, but no other internal shots. I contacted him thru the ebay messager asking him if he could take a pic of the ad page and explaining I really only want the book so I can cut out the ad page and frame it for my office. I was very polite, wished him a pleasant holiday and everything.

This dude replies twice. The first time he says: "No. That is a ridiculous question. In fact, don't ever buy or bid on anything I put up to offer. Wow."

His second message was: "That was a highly disrespectful thing to ask. You are blocked. Have a nice life."

I was thrown for a loop. I replied I didn't think it mattered what I wanted to do with something I bought from him (especially a trash copy of House of friggin' Mystery) and basically that he was a judgmental jerk who lost out on a lot of potential future business (I have like 10k books and am always buying silver & bronze stuff).

Am I really that wrong in wanting a junk copy of this book just for the ad? I don't think it's any different than buying a junk car for spare parts.

Or do you guys tend to agree with me that this guy's just a royal douche?

Some ppl hold different value and attachment to books, even the books they're selling.

He probably was bugging but you shouldn't have told him why you wanted it.

He's just a douche.

Fyi, I had my girl make an offer on the book for the hell of it (since I'm supposedly blocked). He had it listed for $8.99 obo + ship; she offered $5. He declined and raised the price of the listing to a hard $15 + ship.

So yeah, he really is a douche, lol.

Btw, he's an antique dealer, not a comic collector. He has a few hundred books listed, but it's all random stuff.

Whoa. His loss. If you want to PM me the issue # and how much you want to spend I could check my old lcs. He has a lot of old horror.

Trying what? Cyclops is dead.

Cyclops is dead. Wolverine's dead. Xavier's dead. Jean's been dead for what? Over a decade now? :lol X-Fans need to thank God that their franchise has other interesting characters like Storm and Nightcrawler to pick up the slack. Otherwise that'd be a dead property. Lord knows the Fantastic 4 couldn't take losses like those.

Also, I read Batman Beyond 2.0 a few days ago and I suggest it to anyone who is interested in the character or a fan of the old animated series. Was very entertaining. Kept the spirit of all the characters, while telling an interesting new story.

There's a glimmer of hope that they all might come back.

Trying to rustle X-Men fans' jimmies even further? :{
:lol Nah they had a press release/roundtable interview for Death of X.

Cyclops is gonna be dead in a similar way Wolverine is. His replacement is already around. What they said about it is reminiscent to when they killed Logan and there were no plans at all for resurrection.

I personally think it's a good move. Cyclops story was told for the past 16 years. He became the villain after being a hero and freedom fighter. The villain doesn't win.

To me it only makes sense to bring back Jean. Let her clean up the mess these weak X-Men leaders have caused since she died. Wolverine and Cyclops ain't coming back.

Bendis had Cyclops go down that Magneto trajectory instead of being more like Xavier. :{

If Cyclops does come back. He'll probably be some juiced up super powered Inhuman killing machine. :hat

It was before Bendis. Fraction and Gillen had driven him down that path.

I forget which of them it was but tthwy established him as a more militaristic leader. Then schism happened and to me once you stop training young mutants to defend themselves and start training them to kill your enemies just cuz your ppl is almost extinct you have entered child soldier territory. That makes you a villain imo.

Bendis inherited all of that. He had to deal with Cyclops after AvX (yeah he wrote some of it) where there was really no place to go after breaking out of prison.

And again Cyclops ain't coming any time soon :lol I was questionable when Soule said it about Wolverine but then he didn't come back and Marvel replaced him, twice.

Yeah. Schism and all the Utopia stuff is when Cyclops started becoming more of an extremist, but he nosedived into full on Magneclops after that.

I don't think he's coming back either, but if he did I think it would be some Dragonball Majin Cyclops hellbent on getting even with the Inhumans by killing them.
