It really is tho

I was a nonbeliever because I didn't want to give it a chance....but all it took was one season...hands down this and BreakingBad GOAT series.

Yep ..a lot of my dudes think this is some Harry Potter type **** ..I'm trying to make them believers too

My girl just got hooked a couple of months ago and I think she's looking forward to the new season more than me :lol

I had a friend quit after the very first episode :| he said he hated it.

Nonsense.

Tell him a lie. Say that Kanye watches it, i bet he changes his mind.

:lol I've tried to get him to but I can't even bother anymore. Kid stopped Breaking Bad halfway through too.

I missed the 1st season.. but after seeing so much hype about Ned's death, I gave it a shot and caught up before season 2. I liked it.. but it took rewatching season 1 a second time to pick up on all the characters and houses and details that was keeping me from really grasping and enjoying it.

When the first episode premiered, a lot of people were down on it for being boring. I was one of those people too. I need to look back on the season 1 thread and see what I posted.

Watched the show first and wasn't really big on it. I decided to read the book instead and the rest is history.

I was hooked since the night the show premiered. I could tell that this show was going to do well. That first episode was incredible and set a new tone in TV imo. I didn't know anything about the books back then (although Jedi Mind Tricks have a song called "A Storm of Swords" which I assume they got from the book in the series). After watching the 9th episode from Season 1, I knew I had to read the books. Any show that could treat a hero archetype like that was worth watching. I bought the first 4 books at Target for like $7 each and read them all. Bought a used hard cover copy of the 5th book, read that. I've also read the World of Ice and Fire and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. GRRM really needs to drop the 6th book, this wait is too much. Next season is going to hold us off I guess until the new book comes out.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms was a good read. Wish it had more stories or a sequel book. Dunk always made things more difficult for himself. Didn't take advantage of the networking he set up.

my AP literature teacher put me on the books in 11th grade, then hooked me up with the first season on dvd and the rest was history. show is so fire man.

I thought its been a given he was a Targaryen? Three dragons for the three main protagonist Dary, Snow, & Tyrion. Also Melisandre def should be the one to bring him back. That fire reborn crap theory is weak imo.

Just weird when they think someone is a Targaryen and they don't have the trademark light blonde / silver hair. Those genes too recessive when the bloodline isn't kept pure.

Kind of crazy that Season 1, Ep 1 is considered slow when you think about the stuff that happens. A dude gets beheaded in the first 5 minutes, they find the dire wolves, you meet Dany by seeing her naked in a scalding bath and a kid gets tossed out of a window because he catches a brother and sister *******. GOT's slow is like a whole season for most shows. LOL.

Yeah for Jon its understandable. But Tyrion has a lineage with the Mad King and Lannister. Weird he came out with that dirty blonde/brown. I love that poetic justice of how Jaime killed his father, and he killed Jaimes father. Unbeknownst to them.

I'm disappointed the show doesn't give people the trademark eye colors of some families. They take out a lot of fun of some character designs.

i think they said emeila couldnt wear contacts well or something like that. Tthe original pilot had her wearing the lilac contact color but it was uncomfortable to her

Edit. Iirc now that i think about it it was something like she couldnt force tears with it also. And season 1 was all about her tears

I read the books and loved how they stayed true to them at the beginning

I've always been scared that once they have to make their own storylines the show might fall off

To me last season was my least favorite and I hated Jamie and Brianne's new storylines

But the show was still good regardless

Jon's story was epic as hell and they changed that a little too

My friend has only seen a few episodes but hates the show. He doesn't like that the show is different from the books. He's too much of a purist to accept that stuff changes when the media form changes.

Is this a spoiler from the books? If it is, can we please make an effort to keep the books and show thread separate? I'm caught up on the show so I'm not too worried about clicking any spoilers in here. If you're still just theorizing that's cool. However, I feel like I just learned a huge spoiler through this post here :(

Quick question though... Has the timeline of the show passed the timeline of the books yet?

I got hooked again while introducing my girl to the show. Now she's pissed at me because I needed my fix last night and had to continue without her :rollin I'm on S3E7 now. Just watched S3E6 "The Climb" last night. This part had me :lol

Also, did Ramsay torture Theon for any reason other than that he was a sadist? I forgot how brutal those scenes were too watch :x :{

He tortued him for 3 reasons
1. Theon was a traitor to the north to which boltons still had alligence
2. Greyjoys were attacking the north and he is the rightful heir.
3. Hes a sadist

I still think "the climb" is one of the best 3 episodes
