i love what he brings to the table. boston fans LOVED his game in the preseason and have wanted him up with the big club. but he's a center and center is our deepest forward position. glad they decided to bump kelly to wing and give him a go. like him a lot.

This. He was one of the last cuts during preseason so there was a lot of praise for Spooner. You knew he was going to be first player called up to the big club if there were any injuries. He had a solid game yesterday.

John Scott should've got 10 games for a minimum.

Dunno really...max is really a 4thliner now and a good pk specialist so he wasn't giving a ton but Downie I still don't know what to think definitely more skilled but he's a head case.

This will quickly turn into a train wreck though if this keeps up smh before we were losing 1 goal games but this caps game?!? Lawd. Shellacking w/o Ovie

But hey we won every fight except downie so that counts for something right?! smfh. Maybe that will give them some kind of life bc this has been embarassing aside from Mason

@DNFlyers: Holmgren says Downie has a concussion from fight. Lecavalier has a facial injury and will miss time.

Lmao I only saw a glance of the Lecavalier one, but I think Wayne took Wilson, close one though. Either way that whole thing was embarrassing especially Emery. Holtby didn't want to fight and he kept pummeling dude, Ray trains as a boxer in the offseason. The Simmonds and schenn ones were at least normal fair fights. I hate Philly sports right now. go sixers they can't even tank correctly . Flyers are a disaster at the moment. Last thing we needed was Vinny hurt. Actually he and downie are our leading scorers, sigh.

He's looking really good so far. Him and Benn gotta figure out this whole being overly passive thing though. There will be times that they give up good looks trying to get the other one a good look.

he's not cut out for our system under julien, which works pretty well. his talent is essentially wasted on our team. glad he's on a team that allows him to focus on the flash and speed.

You can't only if I'm not mistaken, its a suspensions if im not mistaken? I was under the impression only goalies can fight other goalies.

It is a suspension... thats why clarkson got 10 games for saving kessel...

Thats what those guys at the end of the bench are for... you take the suspension and the organization pays your fines for you. They r very lucky he wasnt the concussed one

Oh and thats only if u come off the bench. Anyone on the ice COULD have stepped up but one guy half heartedly tried n the ref waves him off :x

Refs messed up with Holtby/Emery. Holtby wanted nothing to do with fighting him. Even declined. Emery told him he had no choice and he needed to protect himself

Refs saw all of this happen and decided not to step in.

Vincent Lecavalier sought out Oleksy...thinking that he had a mismatch due to weight/height. Little did he know that Oleksy can throw bombs...and well:

OKB is right...if any Cap stepped in, that's a LOOOONG suspension. This is why the ref needs to be held accountable there. He had all the power to stop Emery, but didn't.
