OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

Yup. it is. :lol

PK all sorts of noise, PK's style too high risk his personality a little too flamboyant, or excitable... what ever euphemism you want to use.

Contract negotiations are starting, so we will see how that goes.

:lol that's what I figured. He's one of the 5 best at his position in the league. Montreal would be beyond foolish for letting him go. Would happily swap mike green, some mumbo sauce, and a used marion barry crack pipe for him. :lol

*I'm curious to see what he's asking for and what he'll get...assuming he stays in Montreal. Right before the lockout, he signed a marginal contract that he wasn't happy with. PK got all the chips in his corner for this negotiation round. GET.PAID.

*edit*

Caps have a brother also. :lol He'd be more than welcome in DC. Him and Ovie in the same town???!!???!!

Therien will be fired before that happens :lol

Publicly criticizing star plays on the verge of a new contract negotiation is a good way to get fired.

From TSN:

The Edmonton Oilers traded defenceman Ladislav Smid and goaltender Olivier Roy to the Calgary Flames on Friday in exchange for forward Roman Horak and goaltender Laurent Brossoit.

:'( Why Brossoit? :{

IMO PK doesn't fit in Montreal at all........and between us, he doesn't really like it there either despite what he HAS to say in interviews and to the papers 8o

JJ's, Wilson is feeling muuuuch more comfortable now and is really settling down, watch for him to start putting up more points and playing overall better hockey. I think he should be on that 3rd line and get at least 10mins/game, but I know his avg ice time right now is around the 7 minute mark.

At least they are trying... :lol

Ilya Bryzgalov reaches agreement with Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers announced Friday they have reached a verbal agreement with goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov on a one-year contract. The agreement is pending the completion of a trade between the Oilers and Calgary Flames announced earlier Friday.

ILYA BRYZGALOV
GOALIE - EDM - CAREER STATS
RECORD: 208-149-45
GAA: 2.55 | SVP: 0.913

Bryzgalov was a member of the Anaheim Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup-winning team and won a bronze medal playing for Russia in the 2002 Winter Olympics. He became a free agent during the summer when his contract was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers, who signed him to a nine-year deal in the summer of 2011.
"We get a goaltender that has a history of being a high-performer in parts of his career," Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish said, "and we get a guy who I think that's very motivated and he's going to have a chance to be a good goalie."

The native of Togliatti, Russia, has a 208-149-45 record in 425 regular-season NHL games with a goals-against average of 2.55, a .913 save percentage and 30 shutouts.

Bryzgalov in the Stanley Cup Playoffs has a 17-19 record with a 2.81 GAA, a save percentage of .908 and three shutouts.

The Oilers traded defenseman Ladislva Smid and minor-league goaltender Olivier Roy to the Flames in exchange for two minor leaguers, goaltender Laurent Brossoit and forward Roman Horak.

I think he'll eventually end up on the 3rd line....but right unfortunately for Wilson, the line of Chimera, Grabo, and Ward is on fire. They are bringing him along slowly w/ the minutes, but as he gets more experience, he'll get more PT. He's no doubt a 20-30 goal scorer after this season.

As far as PK...might sound awful, but if the NHL wants to grow their product, put him in a NA original 6 city. Personally I would hate to see it, but he'd absolutely flourish in NYC...both on/off the ice.

Where does it stop man.

Thierrien did this to himself... PK was negotiating long term lastvyear and they FORCED him into a bridge contract.. welll guess what hes better now and has a norris trophy lol pay the man his money and ****

Blaming him for montreals problems is laughable. Without PK that team is trash. So keep benching him and costin him olynpic medals im sure he wont walk away to a team that appreciates him...

Clowns

If youve ever watched a habs game and pointed at 76 and said that guys the problem... you have hate in your heart and need to let it out hah i dont know what to tell you but its just comical. Maybe if he didnt have to help markov move his hoover round back with him on breakouts hed have legs to be even better.

When Karlsson was minus 30 or whatever in his 2nd year playing a full season i dont recall him riding pine or being the focal point for all the teams shortcomings... sad.

I can maybe kind of sort of understand him not being on team Canada based on philisophy but only if dan boyle is also not selected. We all know its a popularity contest in the end between certain individuals and id almost bet a nut Boyle stays on there.
