OFFICIAL HOMELAND Thread | FINAL SEASON

All these calculated risks. Carrie went to Jenna cuz she needed her help... but also would have known that she would tell Saul about it.
And surely Saul would have known that Carrie would figure it all out.

Carrie tried. Saul played dumb. I'm absolutely fine with Carrie hanging Saul out to dry finally after 8 years of watching Saul use Carrie like a cheap prostitute at every turn

Word. I was looking all early in the morning. Even checked just now.

Guess they thinking they gonna get everybody to watch it live.

If anyone knows Carrie’s ability it’s gonna be Saul. He’s going to know that she put 2+2 together. Question is does he allow her do do the deal or is she gonna take the ultimate L?

Man this ***** Carrie had me shook. I really thought she was gonna have Saul killed.

**** this 2 years later epilogue. I needed for Saul to show up and just off Yvgeny and Carrie at the concert

Her replacing Anna aint enough for me.

Cool finale though. I know they couldn't end it in an explosive way like Carrie blowing up a room full of Moscow elite

What happened to crazy Carrie ? Shes all good now? Seeing Brody in the beginning made me realized how much has happened in this show without him. I still swore Sal was a spy from the lie detector scene from S1.

It was an ok finale. A bit full-circle for Carrie, which I guess was what they were aiming for. But yeah... ultimately, her mental illness issues weren't an issue? And how does she just abandon her daughter like that?

And I'm not sure if I missed this, but what is the status of Saul now? I guess he's still working with the intelligence community in some capacity? But who becomes Carrie's handler when he retires?

And is she just gonna fake her relationship (assuming it's not entirely genuine right now) with Yevgeny for the rest of her life? I guess she can't really go home now, but she's just gonna spend the rest of her days as an agent in Russia?

Anywho. It's been a fun ride. It had its ups and downs, but was still a very good series.

And Carrie’s magic vagina still the mvp, got Yevgeny to finally succumb to the spell for which many have experienced and died for already. :smh:

That's my biggest takeaway.. There's absolutely no way I could trust Carrie knowing that she was willing to kill Saul just for some information. Yevgency in love with that broad. I would've left her at that house and let her get captured.

They established seasons ago that if Carrie gets her meds she will be fine.

The majority of the time, Carrie purposely went off her meds to make breakthroughs in cases like she's Rainwoman or something. Then due to her on again off again treatment those meds werent as effective so she got shock therapy and a brand new treatment. They're not impossible to find medication so I'm sure they can get it in Russia.

And how does she just abandon her daughter like that?
She BEEN abandoned Frannie. Lets be real writing wise, the only time Carrie was a mother was right after the kid was born, she quit being CIA and got that other peace keeping job. After she got back into the ****, she realized she ain't cut out for this parent life **** and gave her daughter to her sister.

That's why it was so easy for her to hop on that plane to Afghanistan.

And I'm not sure if I missed this, but what is the status of Saul now? I guess he's still working with the intelligence community in some capacity? But who becomes Carrie's handler when he retires?
Yeah he'll do it and train somebody new he trusts to take over his role.

And is she just gonna fake her relationship (assuming it's not entirely genuine right now) with Yevgeny for the rest of her life? I guess she can't really go home now, but she's just gonna spend the rest of her days as an agent in Russia?
Yes. This probably the easiest part for Carrie. Playing pretend, giving up the yambs, and acting like she accepts the new life.

When in reality, she knows she cant be an agent anymore so she's regulated herself in to the role of spy to make up for getting Anna killed and sort of penance to Saul.

I liked the finale even though we all probably expected something different.
I think Carrie and Yevgeny always liked (admired) each other so its a natural fit. I could see her living a happy life in Moscow
8 seasons........Homeland was always in my top 3 shows every year. Im gonna miss it for sure.
