I'm new to all this so bear with me, lol. If I can do away with Time Warner, I will.

With Apple TV 2 being jailbroken you can install xbmc and other stuff which can open up a ton of content if you can find it.  I'm currently looking in the XBMC and Icefilms forums for good addons.  Icefilms was perfect for me but it's down at the moment.  I heard it's because GoDaddy was getting complaints so they had to find a new host.   I'm so close to canceling my Netflix.  You can install Addons like 'free cable' and get TV shows from local and cable TV networks.  I bought the ATV2 because I didn't want to always have to hook up the iPad or laptop to the TV to watch something.  It's well worth it to me.

Got this from another forum.  The backup address for Icefilms is still up. I tried this and it works.
I tested that the older backup IP address, http://188.121.50.149/index will work in place of http://www.icefilms.info/index.

For the time being these steps should keep you from coming down off our Icefilms high:

You go to the main site with http://188.121.50.149/index
Search for the movie/tv show you want, it should take you to the search results. You may need to add the season for the tv show to the search request, eg Dexter 2x02.

The link in the search is composed of http://www.icefilms.info/ instead of the IP address. If you click the link from the search field and then paste thehttp://188.121.50.149 in place of the http://www.icefilms.info you should be at the sources link. The address in the bar should then look like:
http://188.121.50.149/ip.php?v=5555& instead of:
http://www.icefilms.info/ip.php?v=5555&

i was using my wi for tethering and att contacted me ... the places where i want to use wi fi, i can't get a signal

i already pay for unlimited data on my ip4, so it would be better to just mirror from there ...

i was thinking 3g for next time because i can have the option to pay for that service separately at least ...

if i change my phone plan to include tethering, i lose the grandfather unlimited data plan ...

i still tether here and there, just for little stuff ... just wish there was a more full proof way.

Wow AT&T really contacted you huh? I've heard that would do that but never knew anyone that's had it happen to them.

I think they'd have a difficult time catching you if you keep your data usage around the same rates as before tethering. Like, if they see a spike in your data usage, they'll suspect it.

Forgot about the grandfathered unlimited plan too, that sucks...

Even still, I'd rather buy a Mi-Fi hotspot from Verizon for $50/month for a Wi-Fi iPad, that way I'd at least get 4G for 4 other devices too, you know?

Oh, and good lookin out with that icefilms info. The workaround works for me too but I don't know how to go about getting it to work on the Apple tv/iPad though.

Most likely.

The cool thing is that subsequent iOS versions can be downloaded on the fly. No more PC (thank god!).

IceFilms is back, about to order my ATV2 for it for the TV. Also, since AT&T is now automatically switching those using MyWi over to a tiered data plan from unlimited is there any cracks/tweaks to prevent them from really being able to tell if its tethering or not?
