Official Jeremy Lin Thread.

That's exactly what I am saying...

Lin won that game because Derek Fisher and Steve Blake guarded him most of the game..

He did what he was supposed to do. Tore up terrible PGs..

In all seriousness though, how many PGs in this league are great defenders?

Chris Paul? Average...Westbrook? Average...Steph Curry? Below Average...Deron Williams? Average...I could go on n on.. A lot of good PGs in this league are not great defenders..So to say "Well, he'll have trouble against PGs that are good defensively" isn't worrying to me as a Knicks fan because I know more often than not, Lin will be going up against sub par defenders at the PG position. It's like saying "LeBron is a beast, but when he's matched up against a SF that is as strong as he is, he's in trouble!!" because damn near no other SF in the league can match up with him physically.

How many are worse than Derek Fisher?

And if there are really no lockdown PG defenders you should be worried that he has 8 turnovers against all those average defenders...

He barely has any NBA experience and gets double teamed. Watching the game tonight, he was getting SWARMED by Kings defenders. That's why he had all those assists. He would penetrate and 3-4 guys would collapse on him, and he'd just lob it up to Tyson or make a quick pass to a cutting teammate. The thing is, when the only guy you gotta worry about creating off the dribble is Lin, it's easy to double n triple team and take the risk of the Knicks beating you from the perimeter without Carmelo. But once Carmelo returns, if he plays to whatever side Melo is on, Melo's defender can't sag off to be a help defender on Lin because then Melo is open all day and regardless of how much he has struggled, he's not missing many open mid range jumpers. So I'm not too worried about Lin's turnovers now. Having Melo back will take much more pressure off him and force the defense to stay true to their assigned man.

Derek Fisher is the worst starting PG in the NBA statistically. He's been it for two years in a row.

This picture is from 2009 and it's still relevant today...How sad it that?

D-Fish and Blake got lit up for 30 the next day by Jose Calderon....He made 6 in a row in the fourth quarter alone.

I'm not trying to hate on Lin, but I just wanted to chime in because people don't seem to realize how bad our PG situation actually is.

Everybody in the league drops 30 on us from that position smh.

Upptempo, you mentioned Lin finally got double teamed tonight. That's obviously why he berely scored. It reminds me of the Andrew Bynum situation, not really a comparison, but here it is

Bynum was balling in the beginning of the season until teams finally started double teaming him. Now he gets double teamed every single game and his production as far as PPG hasn't been the same.

He's still playing well, but obviously not scoring as much now that teams are paying attention to him.

Anyways, I wasn't going to post. Only reason I did is because I felt like coming in here after reading that Fisher played physical and good defense on Lin...Yea, just no.

He doesn't play good defense on ANYONE.
