Respect.  Thanks for bringing some knowledge and bringing up Flip Murray.  But, the only thing I can say is this cat LIN is doing it in NY

Mad props to Flip on doing what he did back then, but doing this on a big stage, big pressure, having NY media on his back....pretty incredible.
If Lin was JUST going on a scoring tear, I would be more skeptical. But this dude might be a replacement for Jerry Sloan's viagra with the way he runs the pick and roll and sees the court. So of course his scoring numbers will drop. It's his assist numbers I'm watching. His ball handling and court vision are what I respect the most thus far.

everyone is watching his scoring/assists but a lot of people are sleeping on the fact that the knicks have 4 STRAIGHT W's. at the end of the day i think the most important stat that anyone should talk about is how jeremy lin is making this team win

Lin's story has been a breath of fresh air. The league got saved by Lin as well. It seems like we all forgot about the lockout. Look for Stern to pull some strings in favor of the Knicks.

Jeremy Lin saving the league?
That just about puts this whole phenomenon over the top for me.

i guess it doesnt matter as long as he's putting up numbers though

he looks off because he lacks the experience. this is something more playtime can take care of
and plus conditioning is an issue

both of these problems can be fixed

I remember Flip Murrary. Nice story. He was boost when he was doing his thing. He never did in 4 games what Lin is doing though and he played that entire season. He averaged like 12 points and after that became a bench player.

Stop.

I get that people are excited. I am too. It's surreal seeing an Asian-American player compete and excel at this level. Unprecedented stuff. BUT... it's hyperbole like this, and there are many examples of it in this thread, that is creating impossible expectations for the kid and will almost surely cause some to hate him due to the slurpage. Let's just appreciate the play.
