[[[ Official John Mayer - Battle Studies Album Thread ]]]

I'ma check this out along with that One Republic and Kris Allen debut. Haven't really felt the 2 tracks I heard from OR.

After 3 full listens through the album.. I'd have to say I give it a 9.0.. We must remember that this is a concept/heartbreak album - not a traditional JMalbum.. With that being said, I think he hit all the aspects of a relationship and breakup.. This is a fantastic album. I applaud you JM and I'll buy youralbum on Nov. 17th and I'll see you in Columbus in March.

7.5-8.0. That's disappointing from him.

Perfectly Lonely and Assassin go extra hard, though.

"You get in, you get done and then, you get gone. You never leave a trace or show your face; you get gone. Should have turned around and left before the sun came up again, but the sun came up again..."
Other thana this album, how vital are his other albums?
Very. All of them.

Seriously.

I gotta co-sign this...it is good, but I was expecting a little less pop contemporary and a little more rock

Going to wait, until the 17th to listen to this.

John Mayer has never let me down, easily one of my top 5 favorite artist of all time.

Dude plays an incredible guitar and his bluesy roots are amazing.

Seeing him like

I'll be sure to check it out, thanks.

So, I just gave it all a listen. It definitely is the "heartbreak handbook" as John has described it, but it works.

- Heartbreak Warfare, I never noticed the solo in it (from 2:30-2:47).
- Assassin and Edge of Desire are my favorite (his voice in Edge of Desire

)
- All We Ever Do Is Say Goodbye, really deep song, seems to have a lot of meaning.
- Crossroads definitely has the least Mayer-feel to it.

I will be purchasing the album in support on John, he delivered on this one.
