Then Mitch was stupid enough to give a contract extension he didn't deserve like he did with Luke Walton.
Like I said before 04-07 Laker era Mitch was a horrible GM with his draft selection and free agent signings.

yeah, a layup on steve blake is a dunk on farmar. a pass on steve blake is a three on farmar. man to be honest some of these dudes on the bench of the lakers doesn't have the mindset of winning a ring. It's only Barnes that's legit tho'

Im kinda wishing that we didnt let farmar go. Blake doesnt seem to bring the same energy that farmar did. Blake is suppose to have the jumper that farmar didnt but thats yet to be seen ..Still lots of time for him to prove himself though

People still don't get it.
Farmar was let go and not offered a contract because Phil didn't like his decision making and how he ran the triangle offense.
Towards the end of last season and during his exit meeting he was saying himself how he felt the triangle was holding his game back and that he felt he need to be in a offense that used his skills more.
Bottom line is Farmar is a shoot first type PG and that does not work in the triangle offense.
Look at our PG's from the 3 peat dynasty to now with this team: Ron Harper, Derek Fisher, and even Brian Shaw were all spot up corner 3 point shooters who came through in the clutch.
Another example of a great PG who they tried and did not work out was the glove Gary Payton and the 1 horrible season he had here with the Lakers.

Farmar was yelling at Phil last season and commented about wanting to be a starting point guard wherever that might be right after the Lakers won the title.
Guy was an idiot and didn't run the triangle for %%#!. He would pull up like he was somebody smh.
Everyone hated him and now all the sudden people are bringing him up again. I swear the day he was gone was one of the happiest days for plenty Laker fans.

Beside this dude Farmar wasn't offered a contract because we already knew he wasn't gonna take it. His butt wanted to be a starting point guard for another team instead of a back up. Steve Blake has no ego issues about being a starter or not. (Oh yeah, about Farmar being a starter...
