Tough loss.
smh.gif

Kobe shoulda had the ball final shot, but I know why Phil goes to Fish, his whole career has been about making those.
We've been in this before, Houston got game 1, we went and won game 3. Nothin changes, we have to win one in their gym. We can do it, we can winanywhere.

Make your free throws in the 4th Q.

Ariza is horrible with the ball. He panics way too much, he shoulda held it and called timeout if he was scared. Very very very poor play there, and he hada GREAT game.

The difference in this game is simple, Billups. Game 1 Melo went nuts, and nobody else went with him. 39 for Melo, 18 for the next highest Nugget.
This game, Melo went nuts with 34, but Billups was right there with 27, that's the difference.

Bynum and Sasha never even touched court in the second half, that's not good. Especially since we were at home, I don't see how they will feel morecomfortable in Denver. Not good.

Just bare down, and win one on the road, get homecourt back. This is a big weekend.

Let's get it.

man it's pathetic reading through some of this thread. the jealousy, the hatred, the envy, it's really pretty sad. hope some of you guys can get overit and get your life back on track, lol.

I'm still calling Lakers in 6. A very difficult series though, I think Kobe should really start facing these guys and stop playing on his back. Pau& Lamar needs to be a little more aggresive, Fish needs to get his touch back and we need more of Bynum in the final stretch of the game.

In defense, I think what the Lakers are doing is fine because we would rather see Melo take all of those jumpers and score for them rather than have a wellbalanced scoring Nuggets team. But DAMN MELO is a ##%@%@$ beast, he is snatching boards like candies and has now nearly perfected his mid range.

GAME 3 is ON, I'm calling the Lakers to bounce back and another close one !!!

I also gotta say I loved Dahntay Jones' poise. He got 3 fouls less than half way through the first quarter, but he kept his composure all game when he wasin. in the 3rd he had 5 fouls but still made tough defensive plays and went all in for his team. I love to see that. the bigs didn't show up for Denverlike they did in game 1, but Melo's dominance and Chauncey's veteran decisions of when to shoot, when to dribble, when to pass, and then Kleiza's1st half performance are really what made this game a W for Denver.

Just cause Kobe can't win anything without All-stars doesn't mean LeBron can't.

Hilarity. If LeBron wins this year, that would mean that he needed an All-Star as well...wouldn't it? Try again.

I think he meant a legit all-star, like say someone who went on to be named to the all-NBA 3rd team, not a 93-94 B.J. Armstrong type all-star who needed aninjury to squeeze into the last place on the all-star roster, otherwise he wouldn't have been there... And who arguably still didn't deserve to be inthe all-star game, even with the injury.

If LeBron goes on to win the championship this year (which probably won't happen due to a lack of quality of teammates as witnessed in game 1, so you canrest your LeBron hating !+$ and breathe easy) the 2008-09 Cavs would fight for the title of the team in history which relied on one man to lead them to achampionship the most, along with the 93-94 Rockets and 74-75 Warriors.

I think it may be time to put Melo in that upper tier category. Dude is playing out of this world in these playoffs. The Nuggets have been in the playoffsevery year since he has come into the league. No one can guard him (literally no one). And down the stretch he has been money. Give my dude Melo his propers.

In game 3 Nuggs need even more thuggery and goonery, Melo and Chauncey need to keep doing what they been doing, and JR might need some more tatts.

, NT will crash.
I by no means am a fan of the lakers, obviously, do I hate them? At times, but only because of their obnoxious fans( some of which I am friends with).
I can see this series going back and fourth, as I see these threads going back and fourth. This is just too comical

.
But the main thing I saw between game 1 and 2 is that Kobe didn't have the ball in his hands as much in crunch time as he did in game 1. Now is that acredit
to Denver's defense, somewhat. But when you have the best player, or one of them, on the planet, give him the damn ball. You can't tell me it'simpossible to get him the ball
All I saw was Ariza turning it over and Fisher taking a contested three.
Great win for the Nuggets though, I'm pulling for you guys, mainly because Melo happens to be one of my favorite players. But this series can go eitherway. Can't wait for game 3.

Niketalk did just fine last year when we got beat down by the Celtics, NT will do just as fine if we lose to the Nuggets, everybody relax.

Not to say there won't be some slow servers, or some magician work from Yuku or any of that, just sayin.

What has this thread turned into? this is still the Lakers vs. Nuggets series thread right? not the Kobe got MVP when and how it happened thread, right???

Back to the topic...

I said this before but I will say it again, where were the touches for Kobe in the final 6 minutes?
Where was Bynum? I didn't see him for almost the whole 2nd half? Is he ok? Where did the game plan from the first qtr go? Out the window?

I don't know everything but it seemed like the plan changed and that wasn't what was wrong, it was the execution and no hustle on defense. But what doI know.

Well the Lakers stole game 1 and Denver stole game 2. The refs were terrible on both sides of the ball. The Lakers got all the calls to start the game whichwas a big reason for the lead to start off. Denver didnt start getting calls till the 4th quarter. And all were still legitimate calls but Laker fans seem tothink their team doesnt foul.

Melo really puttin in that work and he legitimately could win a chip before Lebron. He has officially become my favorite player in the league once Iversonretires.

I am not saying that the calls against the Lakers were not "legitimate" calls. i agree they could have been called but if that's the case callthem for both sides that way, ESPECIALLY at the end of the game!

If you are going to call it lopsided then do us all a favor refs, call the bad calls for one team at the START of halves not at the end. ESPECIALLY (I likethis word) at the end of games.

That is my only beef with the poor officiating in game 2.

Ideally: Call it the same for both teams all game long
I will settle for: Calling it lopsided in the 1st and 3rd quarters as long as one team gets the callsthe 1st and the other gets the calls the 3rd.
I don't like: When refs call bad calls at anytime they see fit, it reminds me of the F&F salesat Footlocker, Champs, and Footaction; "Everything 30% off except for anything we don't want to be 30% off" (we will let you know once you get tothe register to pay).

How bout we skipp all that and just call the game "By the Rules", Rules being give the Lakers all thecalls.
