OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2013-2014 SEASON THREAD (PLAYOFFS! 2nd Round v. OKC; Series at 2-2)

I was saying the same thing watching the Kings game...although J-Crossover was killin em, it would've been nice to see Blake demand the ball in clutch time.

Right. Part of it is on Blake. He doesn't insist on getting the ball enough in those situations. Hopefully, we'll see him do it more as the season progresses.

Today is gonna be real. If CP3 ain't 100% and Redick is still out our Tribe Called Bench needs to put in work.

Yeah. If CP can't go, we're going to need another big game from Crawford like on Friday. And Dudley's going to need to make some shots.

Not mad about the loss today. Tough to lose a starter right before a game against one of the best teams in the league. Glad we overcame a slow start and made it a game. Probably good for us in the long run. Shows us where we have to improve.

^^^^In all honesty aside from Redick being out we were good and quite possibly in our best form. It's hard to compete on the rebounding with the size of the Pacers team. There were many small mistakes that caused unnecessary turnovers or fruitless possessions. Pacers are a scary team and ef Paul George man. I hate how we always get bombed on from the 3 point line from a team who never has a high 3pt percentage.

Our defense was probably the best I've seen all season. Our shooting was decent but Crawford just didn't seem to have that hot hand today. I just can't believe the Pacers 1 loss was to the Bulls who we ran out of the gym. In the end Indiana showed why they're now 16-1.

Still a 105-100 loss and 2 comebacks from double digit deficits is good considering who we were up against.

^^^ IMO, Pacers have a legit shot to win the title. They're that good.

(BTW, I'm still salty that we drafted Aminu over Paul George. SMH).

Yeah they talked about that draft in the broadcast. Yeah I think Pacers are on track to take the east and the finals possibly. The thing is the East is such a wreck right now that the outcome is already pretty much decided as far as who's gonna be in their conference finals.

The west however that's a different story.

LOS ANGELES -- Clippers guard J.J. Redick suffered a fracture in the small bone of his right hand and a tear of his right ulnar collateral ligament and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, the team announced Sunday.

Redick suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Clippers 104-98 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

"It takes out something that's been huge for us offensively," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "J.J.'s movement is often an often in itself. He's one of those guys when he goes out it changes a lot of what we do. We're going to have to do it on the run we don't have a lot of time to prepare. ... We just have to find another way."

Redick will be re-evaluated on Monday by hand specialist Dr. Steve Shin to determine further course of treatment. But the Clippers are preparing for Redick to be out two months.

"It's still swollen and there's some pain in there but I'll be fine," Redick said after Sunday's 105-100 loss to the Indiana Pacers. "I have enjoyed these 17 games that I got to play in immensely. I love this team and I love playing for Doc so it's very frustrating, but I'm an optimistic person. Mentally I'll be fine. ... A couple of the coaches said it will be like we traded for somebody right before the All-Star break. I'm hoping to have five more months of basketball to play this season."

Rivers said Willie Green would start in Redick's place.

"I like Jamal [Crawford] coming off the bench," Rivers said. "When Matt [Barnes] comes back we'll play Willie, we'll play Reggie [Bullock] at the two, we'll play all kinds of combinations. ... It's a big difference."

Green started 62 games last season for the Clippers in place of Chauncey Billups and said he's more than capable of filling the void for as long as he's needed.

"For the most part I have to play my game and stay within myself and do what I can to help the team win games," Green said.

Barnes is expected to miss two more weeks after suffering a retinal tear in his left eye last week and undergoing surgery.

Chris Paul, who suffered a strained hamstring against the New York Knicks on Wednesday and missed Friday's game against the Kings, returned Sunday against the Pacers.

I'm worried about us. The D just isn't as good as it should be. We need Barnes back and clearly miss Redick.

All that said, the turning point in the game tonight was that lucky-@&& 3 Lou Williams made in the 3rd quarter. Down 5 and about to get a shot clock violation and he makes that. Totally killed the momentum we had. That's what we get for Hollins flopping against a guard.

While the rotations on defense are still bad, I honestly feel our lack of length/athleticism (go figure) is what is killing us on defense and on the bounds.

We need a starting 3 that does a little bit of everything (D's up, bounds, steals, slashes, etc). Dudley is not the answer and I think Matt is better suited as a spark off the bench.

Trading Bled for essentially Dudley was a disaster. Bled should have been the piece that got us an above average SF or a good 3rd big.

Butler and a 2nd for Redick should have been the move (MIL only got two 2nds for FA to be Redick, and Butler ended up on MIL anyway). Doc got played.

Last night was brutal and makes Portland a really scary matchup now. Our Def is getting way outgunned lately.

Tonight's matchup I'm hoping we fair better than when Memphis was here.

We should fare better. They're without Gasol and possibly Z-Bo. And, hopefully, the team is pissed about the loss last night and will want to get a W. We'll see though. We have not been very good on the road so far this season.

Blake is sleepwalking through this game. We're not going to win too often with him looking like a role player:

[COLOR=#red]Clips close with Stephen Jackson[/COLOR]

The Los Angeles Clippers are closing in on the signing of former San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson, according to sources briefed on the talks.

Sources told ESPN.com that a deal with Jackson is on course to be finalized this week, potentially before the Clippers visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night in coach Doc Rivers' first game there since leaving the Celtics in June to take over in L.A.

ESPN.com reported earlier Monday that Jackson had emerged as a prime candidate for the Clippers to sign in the wake of several injuries that have decimated L.A.'s depth at the wing positions.

On Sunday night, Jackson cryptically tweeted: "I never lost faith. The wait is over."

Jackson, 35, has been searching for a new team since his sudden release by the Spurs shortly before last season's playoffs in April. Injuries suffered by starting guard J.J. Redick, top reserve Matt Barnes and rookie forward Reggie Bullock prompted Rivers to announce after Saturday's loss in Cleveland that the Clippers essentially "have to look somewhere" for reinforcements.

"If you guys have any names, call me and let me know," Rivers told reporters. "I'll be on the phone tonight with [Clippers executives] Gary [Sacks] and Gerald [Madkins] and Dave Wohl and I'm praying they know somebody. We'll see. You never know."

Former Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns guard Shannon Brown has also been mentioned as a potential target, but Jackson has the sort of size, 3-point shooting range and playoff résumé that is said to appeal to Rivers as the Clippers search to fill the void.

It was not immediately known how the prospect of a signing this week, if it indeed goes through as expected, would impact the Clippers' well-chronicled interest in re-signing veteran forward Lamar Odom.

Rivers has spoken optimistically in recent weeks about Odom's chances of returning to the Clippers after a tumultuous offseason, but the mounting injuries have left L.A. with a more pressing need than Odom might be able to fill.

Another possibility is that the Clippers sign Jackson this week to fill their one open roster spot and then release another player later to make room for Odom, who sources say is making good progress in his personal workouts in preparation for a return to the NBA that is now widely seen as inevitable.

Redick is out at least six more weeks with a fracture in the small bone in his right hand and a tear of his right ulnar collateral ligament. Barnes has been plagued by a torn retina in his left eye that has already required two surgical procedures. And Bullock suffered a suspected high ankle sprain in the loss at Cleveland.

Jackson, meanwhile, has been working out on his own in Texas in hopes of hooking up with another contender.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich abruptly released Jackson in April just six days before the end of the regular season because the Spurs felt that he was unwilling to accept a lesser role in the playoffs behind fast-developing youngsters Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green. Jackson later said in numerous interviews that he actually asked the Spurs to move him before the league's annual trade deadline in February but couldn't convince them to go along with the request.

Signing S-Jax is fine with me. I think he'll play hard for Doc and we definitely need the wing help right now. Plus, it can't hurt to add another guy to the roster that's known for toughness.

^^^He's a shooter so that plays into our problem of little to no half court game. And man do we love our veterans. I'm hoping he can make up whenever Redick or Dudley go cold. With Barnes out we need that extra shooting presence.

I didn't even watch the Cavs game but was like :x when we lost.

Not as bad as the Knicks tho, ouch.

^^^ Feel lucky you didn't watch the Cavs game. It was terrible. Just one bricked 3 pointer after another. And Blake looked like he didn't want to be out there. I don't know what was going on.

I shouldn't have been surprised though. The Cavs just seem to own us, regardless of who's on the team and what they're record is. Bad road loss to them 2 years ago, with Kyrie out, bad home loss to them last year. Now a bad road loss to them this season. :smh:
