The 30-10-10 is nothing to wow about because he was the primary ball handler 90% of time and was assigned to be the primary rebounder of the team anyway.

:lol

I can't wait til the heat win it all again. gonna be fun watching you guys have to deal with that.

Maybe its just me, but i thought that was an act

I think he takes his focus and intensity up a notch in the playoffs. He seems to be ALL business. Dude has shut down his social media and kept a relatively low profile off the court. It's fun to watch him do his thing right now.

Paul George is going to be that dude until he gets paid. Just watch. He's having that Rudy Gay post shoulder injury like career, but on a much better team. He's more developed in terms of ball handling and a more deteremined defender, but the analytical people will rip him apart because of his offense unless he improves.

Both George's and Rudy's (post shoulder injury) TS%'s, 3PT %'s, FG%'s, eFG%'s are all in the same stratosphere.

BUT, if George gets that Rudy Gay money, its all down hill from there. People will say he sucks, inefficient, etc. :lol I personally would love to have him on our team, but because he shoots asub .400% in the playoffs for his first 3 seasons, people will say he's not this or that.

Except he literally does everything better than Rudy Gay...He is a premier defender, an excellent ball-handler, a really good passer...so he really plays nothing like Rudy Gay at all.

I think you can easily make a case for Paul George, RIGHT NOW, being better than Rudy Gay was ever in his career.

Chris Paul is racist?
Chris Paul’s preference is to stay with the Clippers but he wants them to hire an African-American coach, according to multiple league sources. The Clips’ best bet for keeping Paul with a long-term deal might be to hire Nate McMillan, who can have the Pistons job and any number of bad-to-so-so jobs that are out there, as the replacement for Vinny Del Negro, whose current contract is expiring and is not getting a new deal.

Most of you missed what Rudy Gay was the year he got injured. He was playing as a 3rd option behind our bigs, became the 2nd best perimeter defender on our team behind TA, make big shots and played point forward. The difference is that his handles still sucked.

2010-11 Rudy Gay (per 36):
17.9ppg / 5.6rpg / 2.6apg / 1.5spg / 1bpg / 47% FG / 40% 3PT / 80% FT / 2.3tpg / 55% TS / 50% eFG / 23% Usage Rate / PER 17.8

2012-13 Paul George (per 36):
16.7ppg / 7.3rpg / 4.0apg / 1.7spg / 0.6bpg / 42% FG / 36% 3PT / 81% FT / 2.8tpg / 53% TS / 49% eFG / 23% Usage / PER 16.8

Same usage rate, very similar results. I've been watching George since his sophmore year in college and he's one of my favorite players in the league. I've been watching Rudy since he's been at UCONN til now. I know that George is a much better ball handler and has a better feel for the game. Rudy was a good defender after his first 3 years in the league. There is a reason why Hollins trusted Rudy to guard guys like Kobe, Lebron and Durant more than he did Tony Allen.

His occasional lazy spells is what hurt him the most. And Rudy was the type of guy that gave more when the competition was greater. But that shoulder injury was the worst thing that could have happened to him because he was learning to become a complementary player during his best season, then got hurt. Once he role switched the next season after ZBo went down, that's when all the confusing started about who played what role on the team.

Now, hopefully I can see a better argument against it.

The hate for Rudy here too strong. You'd take Ariza last season in LA over Rudy? Do you even watch Basketball? Have you ever watched basketball?
Ariza knows his role and his contract is much smaller, Rudy Gay will shoot the team out of games 7 out of 10 games.

Look at what he is doing with the Raptors....people were expecting him to blow up like James Harden, Tracy McGrady, but know he is the same player that shoots and shoots.

Should have just tanked, develop Terrance Ross and wait for Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins

Good, because obviously you cannot argue against what I posted. I'll like to see you try, though.

I'm specifically talking about who Rudy Gay was POST SHOULDER INJURY. Anything prior to that has many variables to it and its pointless to bring it up because that's not what the argument is about. And I'm sure most of the time you've watched Rudy play was during nationally televised games and reading the box scores. So, of course your opinion is going to be very brief.

If Rudy shot Memphis out of so many games and was so bad, then why a hard nosed coach like Lionel Hollins who has a short temper against players who don't work hard loved him so much as a player?

So Rudy Gay was a point forward at one point? What happened? Your Point Forward skills just don't disappear papi.

And what year are you referring too when he got injured?

One is a tunnel-vision chuck who is a mediocre defender, the other is basically excellent at all features of the game except shooting which he is constantly getting better at...what other argument is there?

Gay and George shot the same amount of attempts in the years im comparing them too.

I'm still waiting on the facts in this argument.

Hell, it don't even have to be the 2010-11 season. Look at 2009-10 season. I'm trying to compare them during a time both had more of a defined role on the team. 2009-10 was Rudy's 4th year in the league.
