D Wade is better than Shump and Rose in general as a combo guard, but he's well past his prime. He's inconsistent where he can look great at times for one game, and then the next game he would look old and washed.

Still an upgrade, but Cavs gonna have to rest D Wade at least several times during the season for him to even survive the playoffs lol

One thing I will give D Wade though is that he does give it his all in the postseason, but he's brittle now.

The fact of the matter is that the evaluation of wings is becoming much simpler nowadays. If you can't shoot..... Then you can't play in a large number of circumstances.

I don't like reducing it down to that but it's just how things are. Especially if you can't play defense on top of it. You can't shoot, can't defend, your athleticism has waned, you're not doing anything positive ESPECIALLY against GSW.

The number one reason why I don't trust Crocodile Rondo playing out on the perimeter.

Crocodile Rondo doesn't finish nearly as well as him. Plus Greek freak is Steph curry compared to him. He made 2 jumpers outside of 15 ft all year at LSU. The dude has questions about if he's using the correct hand to shoot it's so bad.

And I still don't consider Greek freak a PG. He uses just 17 percent of his possessions as a ball handler. Meanwhile Brogodon and Delladova are at 31% and 40% respectively.
Most of his possessions come in transition and when he does use possessions as a ball handler it's an abysmal .8 PPP because teams just go under the screen.

Might as well put the nail in the coffin for this just turned 21 year old. Surely there was no reason why he still was the best player in the nation and #1 overall pick last year.

Love the analytics behind valuable players but I watched that same no 3 or D guard carry the Heat to 2 7 game series a year ago, saying he has no value is simplistic

There are a looooot of players that can give you 12ppg, man. Not saying Wade is the worst one by any stretch, but that's a very poor baseline.

I'm surprised you're being so myopic about this.

He shot well over 50% on 3s in that playoff run. Obvious fluke and the volume was low but he made them when he took them, which sometimes happened to be very late in the games. They lose G6 in Charlotte if he has his normal night from 3.

His usage was over 30% so he was able to work himself into a rhythm which contributed to his fluky long range shooting. He's said it verbatim out of his mouth that he's a rhythm player. He needs that.

There will be no opportunity for that kinda rhythm in Cleveland because he'll be 4th in the pecking order at best now, mins and usage will be substantially lower than his rookie year.
