I want to get some objective NBA opinions here. Hypothetically, let's see the Lakers acquire LeBron Paul George and are able to keep Julius Randle and they go into next season with a roster looking something like this:

Zo/Bron/ingram/free agent
PG/Hart
Bron/Ingram
Randle/Kuzma
#25 pick/Randle

Is this team a title contender? Second-round fodder for the Rockets/Warriors?

Depends on how they run their offense honestly. If they run everything through Bron then they'll probably be out in the second round

Call me a homer (I probably am) but I see the Lakers young guys taking a big step this offseason. I also think that Ingram and kuzma coming off the bench will allow them to feast on second units.

Would you guys recommend the Lakers trade some of their young guys to get a third Superstar or do you think they should roll with just LeBron and Paul George if they get them?
If u can get a All Star caliber vet for
Kuzma and #25 I’d do it....

I think you're right that if the Lakers try to run the exact same "offense" (I use that word loosely) that the Cavaliers run that this team has a limited ceiling.

Personally, I tend to believe the rumors that LeBron wants to play more off ball going forward. This is why I think that Zo is a good player to pair with LeBron and PG. He already has elite court vision, is a good defender and doesn't need to take a lot of shots to Be an effective player.

Houston won’t look the same next season
They gon be paying a 35 year old a CP
$40M with no young assets

Yup. Houston losing that series was like cleveland losing game 1. It's a wrap. Paul a year older and one year closer to menopause. Harden still hasn't figured out why he sucks in the playoffs after 6 years. Joe Johnson useless, ariza gone, Anderson trash. Yall better get ready for the Zhou qi era

Houston is in an interesting spot. Harden already has a super max contract ($40m per season) and CP3 is going to request a max contract ($35m per season). That's $75m tied up in two players before they even get to Capella's extension.
Have no backup PG or Big Man
Ariza will likely walk
Still paying Anderson horrible contract

Unless Kawhi becomes available, makes no sense to trade any of the young guys for another star. He's the only one that will move the needle.

I REALLY like Kuzma. I know he spent three years in college andis considered an "older" rookie but I feel like he still has a lot of room to grow. I would hate to give him up because I think he has a lot of potential. That being said if we could flip him and the Cavs pick 4 equality borderline All-Star type vet I would do it.

Hypothetically, if things went south in Minnesota (which isn't that far-fetched) and Jimmy Butler became available would you be willing to trade some of the young guys for him?

Nah Jimmy is kinda injury prone as he gets older and he’s due for an extension real soon

Nah, because even though he’s better than PG they seem pretty redundant together and PG can be got for “free”.

I hate to say it but I think Lebron’s window to win another championship is closed.
He will win 1 more at minimum
GS came outta nowhere in 2015
he just has to use his mind and select the right team he knows what he needs to beat them he and Rich Paul have to got to work now and make it happen

If Bron wanna win in LA without Kawhi, Ingram basically gotta become a star. I still cant figure him out.

His options are kind of limited if he wants Max money. Not a lot of teams have max player cap space. Wouldn’t make sense to do a sign and trade because the team he would get traded to would have to give up assets to get him. His best bet is signing as an unrestricted free agent somewhere, but not a lot of teams have the cap space to sign him outright. Houston would have to lose a lot of players to sign him. Bron with Harden and the corpse of CP3 won’t beat the Warriors. He can’t beat the Warriors with he young 76ers. Bron ain’t beating the best shooter ever with Lonzo in La. Warriors are in their prime while Bron is declining. He’s not winning another ring.

lebron could win another one if he is willing to take less than the max but i dont see that happening. it's just difficult to max out three guys and still have enough depth unless everyone is willing to take less
yes, you need legit three stars to even think about competing with the dubs
going to a young squad that my have the potential (celtics) to develop superstars but bron cant waste the next couple years. if he did land in boston, they would have to give up a couple young guys to established stars (kawhi, AD, etc).

Also when was the last time LeBron was allowed to be coached? He basically controlled Blatt and Lue in Cleveland.

There's this narrative that the Lakers are the worst situation for LeBron to go to free agency wise and I don't necessarily think that's true. If you look at all of his potential Landing spots I think the Lakers might make the most sense especially if he goes with Paul George.

Also, you know that the Lakers will spend the money necessary to consistently put a title contender out there.

I disagree but we’ll see should be an interesting summer...

To be fair, when's the last time LeBron had a good coach?

I think he allowed Spoelstra to coach in Miami and they had phenomenal results. I think LeBron has to respect you before he allows you to coach. As a Lakers fan, I think this could be an issue in LA with Luke Walton.

Did Houston have 3 stars?

this. aside from miami, he needs to relinquish all that power and influence he has. a lot has to do with respect. i think he would respect guys like stevens/ainge and pop/buford and the ownership of those organizations

Lebron will win another one. He'll join a great team later in his career, if not now. And he'll win and say this may have been the most special one, or something like that.

Then retire

I remember hearing that he wanted Mark Jackson as HC.
