One thing about the 2K ratings...how do guys like DJ and Gobert who are elite defenders and dunkers but not good at basically anything else have like 88 ratings? Are their defense and dunking rating like a 300/100 to make up for the other stuff? I just don't know how they actually come to these averages for the players.

They aren't AVERAGES.

If you look at them as such, you will be annoyed.

The first thing you need to see is the LABEL

Crafty Playmaker
Athletic Playmaker
Point Center
Slasher

Then you look at the overall rating.

LeBron is probably an All Around Superstar, and AS an All Around Suoerstar, he is a 97.

Rudy Gobert, Interior Defender, is an 87.

It isn't saying HE is an 87/100 as an OVERALL player

Things like athleticism and stuff can buffer up ratings a lot lol.

Dunno about 2k18 but in previous games they had other intangible things like IQ that buffed up overall ratings lol
