So how does this makes sense again? :x
Jameer Nelson's three-year contract with the Magic is actually $25.2 million compared to the previously reported $20 million
Nelson will make $8.6 million in each of the first two seasons of his new deal, while the final year calls for $8 million, but is only partially guaranteed.
I'm not sure I understand the comparison here, those were two completely different situations.Jameer's contract sounds like Rashard Lewis all over again. effed around, got bored, and added more money/years.smh

LinkSources: Nets open season in Brooklyn against Knicks
New York basketball fans won't have to wait very long to see the Knicks and Nets square off next season.
The Nets' first regular-season opponent in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be the cross-town rival Knicks, according to league sources. Both teams open the 2012-13 campaign with that Nov. 1 matchup, which also will be televised nationally on TNT, the sources said.
It will be the first of four meetings between the Knicks and Nets.
The Knicks will hold their home opener the next night at The Garden against LeBron James and the NBA champion Miami Heat, according to a report. The Heat eliminated the Knicks in five games in the first round of the playoffs last season.
The entire 2012-13 schedule will be announced on Thursday at 7 p.m. in a one-hour show on NBA TV.
It is somewhat surprising that the Nets aren't opening their new arena against a team other than the Knicks.
When the Nets and Knicks met in New Jersey, most of the building was filled with Knicks' fans. Nets' players were booed at the foul line and chants of "Let's Go Knicks," filled the arena. It bothered many Nets players, including All-Star point guard Deron Williams.
The Nets are expected to have a bigger fan base in Brooklyn than in New Jersey, but they're still playing in the heart of Knicks' country. So there could still be a large number of Knicks' fans cheering the visitors and booing the home team as the Nets try to establish themselves in their new building.
Both teams have had a very busy offseason and grabbed national attention with their moves.
The Knicks signed Jason Kidd, Argentine point guard Pablo Prigioni, James White and will ink veteran shooting guard Ronnie Brewer this week. They brought back Raymond Felton, Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas in sign-and-trade deals.
The Knicks' biggest move was choosing not to match the Houston Rockets' three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet to Jeremy Lin that included a $14.9 million "poison pill" in Year 3.
The Nets re-signed Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace, traded for six-time All-Star shooting guard Joe Johnson and burly forward Reggie Evans, and signed backup point guard C.J. Watson, Jerry Stackhouse and Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic.
The Nets also were involved in trade discussions for Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard.
Both New York teams have positioned themselves to be in the playoffs. The last time the Knicks and Nets both made the postseason was 2004. The Kidd-led Nets swept the Knicks in four games in the first round.

SheridanHoops says Magic may even hold on to trade talks for Dwight until next summer.
And effectively eliminated the Nets & Lakers because both teams will not be able to do S&T per new CBA rules.
